That place is scary under any circumstances! I hope no one was on a ride that abruptly stopped.

 Was it on a news report or something? I wonder, like you said, what happened to the people on all the rides?! Oh man that would be kindof scary.

tricia.

Came over Philly news a few minutes ago. Seems like most of Jackson Township is out.

I can't imagine being on one of those extreme rides and getting stuck!

 ANOTHER reason I'm glad we didn't go back again this year.

Watching news coverage now--lots of folks were trapped on rides, looks like all have been rescued. Power still out.

:scared1: :scared1: I'd be freaking out if I were stuck at the top of a ride somewhere. :scared1: :scared1:

Thanx for the Info, My son is there now with his friends was eating when power went out. Most likely is going to leave since it has been out for quite awhile. Look at this Real Time assistnace from these message boards. Read Post, Called Son to find out if he was Ok. Thanx again.

 I'm not a roller coaster kinda gal, just another reason not to be. That's very scary, hope everyone is okay.

I am soooooooo happy this was helpful to you.

The DIS has helped me so much, I am glad to return the favor in any way possible.

So glad your son is OK.

I worked there in high school and college. We used to love power outages! Don't think the guests were as thrilled. It wasn't really a big deal unless you were on the cable cars or roaring rapids.
The coasters didn't stop with anybody hanging upside down, they just stopped either at the top of hills or outside the station or on the straight away's if they got to close to the car in front of them. The rapids ride was fun for us if any of the boats went into the resovoir, then somebody got to go swimming to bring them a line so they could be hauled in. The cable cars are scary if you're stuck for any length of time, hanging there swaying in the breeze.

OMG - you have my stomach jumping - I'm a BIG scary ride lover, but ferris wheels and cable cars (especially when they go over those bumps at the poles) scare the *&%# out of me. Each time we go to a park, I HAVE to go on those, though- kind of like a confronting my fears thing (my kids know I hate those things and see me go on them anyway - hopefully, there's a lesson there somewhere....)

Anyway, thanks for the news - when dh comes home and asks if I heard about it, I can say, "yup, read about it on the DIS!"

You all are awesome!

my younger daughter is there with her camp. they were in Hurricane Harbor today, they did the Great Advennture part yesterday. she sent me a text message at 5:30 that the water park was closed and she was annoyed.
