We are driving to Fla for the first time. We bought a portable DVD for the trip and have borrowed a 175W power inverter to use for playstation2. Has anyone ever used one of these? Will it blow a fuse? Each device will be plugged into a different circuit each with 20 amp fuse?

We used a Playstation2 using a power inverter on our trip down in April. We didn't have any trouble with blowing the fuse. The 175w inverter has plenty of power, I think the Playstation2 only uses about 50w if I remember correctly.

We had a separate "vcr in a bag" that we used to display the output of the Playstation so this was also plugged in.

Also, the nice thing was that the Playstation2 also plays DVDs so the kids could switch between movies and video games. We also bought a headphone splitter so they each had their own headphones and didn't drive us nuts with videogames going on behind us.

The only problem we had was that some video games were hard to play. Anything with words on the screen was difficult to see because the screen was much smaller and the normal bouncing in a van made it tough to read the screen displays.
