Wondering where I will get my power coffee...At home I brew Starbucks in a perk pot...I like it strong!; :coffee:

I definitely do not want to take the perk pot cross country, nor leave the DL property, so where might I find the best cup of coffee available at DLR?

Does DL brew that Nescafe' like WDW? I hope not...;)

unfortunately there are very few places in DL that you can get good coffee...one place is Riverbelle Terrace, Plaza inn is ok, Blue Ribbon bakery and vineyard room in dca is good...at the hotels, the coffee is decent at GK and of course the coffee house is very good...I had to go every day and buy the strongest they had and bring it to my room before I even took a shower and got ready for my day...GC has good coffee at storytellers...what I am going to do next week is take my own ground up beans and use the coffee pot at the hotel...I need my coffee to get me going and this is going to be the best way I think...one thing to remember if you do this...bring your own filters...they give you prefilled filters with caca coffee...;)

If you have access to hot water and don't mind bringing your own coffee grounds, this would be the way to go. Very easy and quick to make with no need for filters. French press-made coffee is tasty too. Here are some examples:

REI Double Shot Press Mug

Big Sky Bistro French Press/Travel Mug

Press-Bot Coffee Press

But if you're looking for ready-made coffee at the DLR, Compass Books and Cafe in DTD, Blue Ribbon Bakery on Main Street, and The McDonald's on Harbor Blvd (just across the street from the DLR) make decent coffee.

HTH!

Last year when we were at DL our ART driver told us that if you buy a coffee at the Blue Ribbon Bakery ( I believe ) you can take your cup back and get free refills all day long. Anyone else heard about this?

Dh buys coffee at The Market House on Main Street. He can refill it all day long with his receipt. He also takes it in to the Plaza Inn to refill it. The pots are sitting out there. :cool2:

I dont drink coffee and there is a thread on here where I'm politely complaining about his frequent bathroom trips when he drinks too much coffee. Apparently he likes it at the Main Street shop.

The coffee counter at the west end of Compass Books in DTD makes a pretty strong cup of coffee IMO. Too strong for me - maybe you'll like it. :)

The Bakersfield Bakery in DCA roasts it's own beans - you can often smell it at the DCA entrance.

I used to like the coffee at RiverBelle Terrace - haven't been there in a while.

oh no hon...Market house has some of the weakest coffee around...but I never thought about going in to refill at the PI:idea:

that is true but its only like for regular or decaf(Nescafe)...and if the OP is anything like me...that is not going to do it for him....

I agree with Dgirl. Take your own coffee and filters and make your own. I think it will save you money and time looking for coffee that you might not even like. :thumbsup2

Thanks Lynn, I'll have to pass this along to him. I dont think he's gone anywhere else first thing in the morning to get it. He likes it strong and has never complained.

As I said I dont drink coffee but I LOVE their hot chocolate!

Thank you fellow coffee hounds.

Where is GK? What about the coffee house? Is compass books open in the morning? Which end of DD is the west end?

I am hoping to achieve power coffee before I go to the parks.
So the best place is where?

I read somewhere, but can't remember where, that Compass Books served Peet's Coffee. I'd be happy and content if that were true - can anyone confirm or deny?

My DH is a coffee fiend too. Good thing we're staying at the Hyatt -- they have a Starbucks in their lobby. An unexpected "perk" of staying off-property :rotfl:

firstly, I cant tell you east, west, north, south of nothing...:rotfl: but from the Marina Tower at the DLH, if you go out towards the pool and look to your far right you will see the coffee house if you dont smell it first lol...GK or rather Goofy's Kitchen is in the DLH and its the big building connected between coffee house and the marina tower...its where they have character meals so if you arent going there I would just stick with the coffee house...as far as the compass bookstore, they open about 8am and its really close to the hotel in downtown disney...on your right side...so for your morning power coffee its probably best to hit either the coffee house right as you walk out or wait a couple of minutes and go to compass...me personally, I would go to the coffee house:goodvibes

Just read my tag, it says it all.
I stayed at the PPH and their little coffee bar had decent coffee. i would get some the night before and either drink it cold in the morning or reheat it in the microwave (we had a suite).
Otherwise I would have been good for nothing:coffee:

I thought I read on this board that you can request a coffee maker be bought to your room. Then you would only have to bring your own coffee.

True, but it's a dinky coffee machine. Better than nothing in case of emergency...but I wouldn't recommend it to a coffee hound.

Blue Ribbon Bakery on Main Steet no longer gives refills, only the Market House (save receipt). It's not the best (as evidenced for my need to add two creamers and 4 sugars per cup!) but it's a decent deal.
They make a nice Chai tea.. but no refills on that.

If you buy a mug at the Market House you can get a free cup of coffee. Save receipt if you don't want the free cup at time of purchasing the mug.

I got coffee with the pot they brought up to us at DLH , I bring my flavored powdered sugar free hazelnut cream with us. Never thought about bringing my own coffee, I just may do that too!
