Powdered Formua??

Hello--
Can I take powdered formula through security? Does it have to be an unopened can or can I put it in my normal container?

I will get the pre-mixed if I have to but DS is not a fan and its $$$$...Also can I take a pre-mixed bottle or does that fall under the no liquids???

Normal container is fine. I had DD's doled out in individual baggies and one of the plastic containers with separate compartments, no problems whatsoever through BWI and SAN.

There are no limits on taking (legal) powders through security. And while baby formulat in reasonable amounts is exempt from the liquid rules, it should be easier to take power rather than taking pre-mixed formula through security. Packaging powdered formula into baggies may increase the risk of problems for obvious reasons.

I carry a powdered vitamin mixed with fiber in a tupperware-like container in my carry-on bag every time I fly. I have never been asked about it. You'll be fine.

We have been traveling since our son is less than a year old. Our experience is on pre-mixed formula and whole milk.

I would say that it varies per terminal. We always bring whatever we think we need for the entire flight plus some extra if going from east to west coast with layover (since you need to be prepared for cancelled flights).

The only time we had a problem with the extra is last year from MCO to PVD. They made us throw away extra milk and just left us with whatever milk is in his sippy cup. We didnt mind since its 3 hour non-stop flight plus he is 1 yr and nine months then.
