Just wondering if anyone has managed to find the "crystal Ball" yet :rolleyes1

We have so many things to pay this year, in dollars, if it gets to 1.56 I'm going for it. :thumbsup2

Annette :)

I am planning on using my post office card in 1 week in Orlando - watch the rate drop as soon as my first transaction goes through :-)

You know, this is a long shot and probably a bit cheeky  but can you still buy Disney gift cards online? I'm sure when I looked last year you could. Just thought seeing as I rather put cash onto gift cards in smaller amounts ike £100-200 at a time (saves me carrying ID to use my card) and wondered I could use the fee free credit card to buy those whenever the rate is good :beach:

Just had a quick look "This item cannot be shipped internationally "

I think that's always been the case. Just thought that there was an option to collect it once at WDW. I could be wrong. Oh well, was worth the thought. And I thought it was such a great idea ..... I guess I'm going to have to get more creative with better ones then :rotfl:

Oh I miss the days of $1.8 to £1 when I bought my DVC...

1.5 is just... Depressing. :sad2:

We've got the post office card already but I've only used it for things like hubby playing golf, and when shopping for things like UGG boots really. In reality it would seem like a good idea to put most of the spending on the card (I would obviously make sure I had the cash at home to pay it off immediately on receiving the bill). Do many people use the credit card this way?

I tried doing precisely that when we went to Vegas in march. Unfortunately, we ended up spending more than we normally would as we hadn't set ourselves a budget (which we would normally when taking our spending money on a pre-paid card). Although we had the money to pay it off when we got back, it was still a bit of a shock to the system - I suppose I am just one of those people that like to know that everything is all paid upfront.

This is exactly how I use my credit cards regardless of whether I am home or abroad and did this with the PO credit card last year. You would have to be very disciplined and also keep tabs on everything you spend on the card so that you stick within your budget to pay it off without incurring interest, but if you are generally meticulous with your finances you will probably find it very easy.

What I prefer to do because we stay onsite, is to buy Disney gift cards on the credit card and use those. Then I am spending a few rounded numbers at a time so it's easy to keep track of, and I don't have to carry ID with me all day for spends. Of course that only works for onsite spending.
