I came across a video of Bear in the Big Blue House a few weeks ago about going potty. My DD2 will be 3 in Sept. and I haven't really been pushing the potty issue, but thought this might be a great incentive for her. She has been in pull ups since she turned 2 because she refused to keep a diaper on. She even goes potty from time to time, but nothing on a regular basis. Since I bought the tape she has watched it a jillion times. Yesterday she actually went potty 3 times all by herself. She has even been singing the songs from the show. I think this just might be the key to finally get her to go potty full time. Just thought I'd pass it along in case anyone else might be in the potty training stages. The show is called "When you've got to go". We actually just watched it on Playhouse Disney, so if you can't find the tape, maybe you could catch it on there if you have the Disney Channel.

Cool idea! I'm glad it is working for you, potty training can be quite difficult for some children (and their parents ;) )

Potty...hey-hey-hey potty

You've got to get down low, when you want to go on the potty train....

We have that tape too!! DS asks to watch it all the time -- not sure if it's helped with potty training, but he loves that video nonetheless! :teeth:

I don't even have kids, but I swear to god, seeing Tutter on the toilet is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Genius.

My twin niece and nephew LOVED that tape.

.

I had to laugh... seeing Tutter on the toilet creeped out my husband to the point he can't watch Bear with my DD!

that episode was on playhouse disney. probably a little early to start my 15 month old on it! LOL! he loves the songs, though. I just love tutter...thank you beah. sounds like my husband!

I giggle quite a bit throughout the show. Today is actually the first time that I had watched the entire episode. Something about Bear saying everyone has to go poop sometimes, just did it for me. Seeing tutter on the potty and talking about wiping was a little icky though. It was all pretty silly to me, but as long as it works for her, hey, I'm all for it! lol

I bought this tape about 3 1/2-4 years ago and I loved watching it and dd liked watching it but it did not help her at all!!!!! She was stubborn and was NOT going to be trained until SHE wanted to be!!!!!!!

Bought the tape for older DS7 several years ago. We still sing the 'Toileteer' song once in a blue moon.

Never even came out for younger son. Heck, he was a year old when big brother was watching it, so he probably got sick of it. He's not nearly as big a Bear fan as big brother was.

I think Tutter (Tuttah?) is from Boston :)

yep...my husband is from Boston, so I'm pretty sure Tutter is a Boston mouse. His grandma sounds the same....come heah tuttah. LOL!

how Ojo over anunciates (sp?) TuhTER? Maybe it's because I'm from KY and it is Tudder to me. *shrugs*

Ojo just has good English(people tell me I do the same thing at times)

I have one of those also. Ds #3 turned 3 in Feb. He will not even think of trying the potty out. He says he is not going to. My 2 oldest were so easy compared to this one. Hope ds #4 is more cooperative, lol.

We too have the tape for DGS (2 1/2) AND bought the musical BITBH potty chair from WalMart too. He is still sporadic in his timing though. His mother puts hims on the potty while she potties but I guess I think differently--some things don't need to be shared or made into a family activity;) But to each his own and it works for her and her family (although I think letting her mom, her dad, her friends, etc potty with him is going too far --I can understand THE PARENT but not the rest of the world.)

I just bought this BOOK, actually. And, would you believe... from the DOLLAR STORE! :)
