Does anyone else want to buy everything at PBK? I'm so glad I hadn't heard of them when DD1 was born, we'd each have 3 jobs to pay off everything I would have bought! I've stopped working to be a SAHM for a few years, so my purchases tend to be fairly modest.

DD1 is 8 and dd2 is 11 months. DD1 has been such a help with her little sister, and her bedroom needed updating anyway, so I just bought her the Island Surf bedding with the matching quilts. She has a twin bed with a trundle, so I bought 2 of everything. She's so excited because this bedding is more "teenager" than little girl. I think I'm more excited that she is. I usually try to watch for sales and keep a tight budget, but their stuff doesn't tend to go on sale that often. I even tried looking on Ebay for the past couple of months, but PBK stuff goes for a lot of money there too.

I wish I could afford/justify lots of other stuff there too, but this indulgence was so much fun!

Anyone else?

I love Pottery Barn Kids!
They're too expensive, though! :guilty:
Get some good ideas from them, though! :woohoo:

I love Pottery Barn everything. My dd loves everything in Pottery Barn Teen, and I'm thinking for Christmas I might her a room makeover with her favorite set from there.

I know, sometimes I think they're too expensive....sometimes I think they just make me want to buy EVERYTHING, lol! I do think some of the stuff is overpriced...like the summer outdoor furniture. I wish I were more creative, and could make wall hangings and curtains and stuff to coordinate.

I've been looking at girls' bedding for a while, and their prices were in line with Lands End, LL Bean, Dillards and Hecht's, so I splurged.

I LOVE it. But can't afford it most of the time! I have bought the boys some sheets from there, and have told myself that when DD is old enough for a twin bed, I will shop there! I just used DS#2s crib bedding for her (it was unisex), so I want to do it up right for her big girl bed!

Alice 28, you're a BAD influence! Aren't you the poster who loves Gymboree too? OMG, everytime you posted about Gymboree on the new Mom's thread, I'd go to the store here!

I know what you mean about wanting to do her room right. DD1, Andi has never had a "perfect" room. I got her a duvet, bedspread (for the trundle) and matching curtain (all on sale of course), but could never find the right sheets. So her room never looked "finished" to me. I need to figure out what curtain will match that Island group. I'm thinking about just going with the basic pink gingham. I also want a pretty lamp, but I may check Target first for that.

It's been a hard year for us, so DH just said to get whatever I want for her room, but I don't want to go crazy, know what I mean?

P.S. I really want to re-do the baby's bedding too. It's from when Andi was a baby 8 yrs ago, so it's very dated. But, on the other hand, I know she won't be in a crib forever, so I'm trying to hold off and wait to do the bedding for her "big girl bed" later.

I love PBK!!! When the twins were babies I their cribsets were PBK...but I was able to find the set I wanted on Ebay.

I've also gone to Ebay recently to buy the PBK Anywhere chairs for the boys in denim and red. They were so expensive that I couldn't see getting them from the catalog. Now the boys have a Spiderman themed bedroom, but someone visiting asked me if I got the furniture and accessories from PBK. It was such a compliment :goodvibes ...other than the chairs, everything else was from Target...and I painted the (yard sale) furniture fire engine red myself!

There's an PBK outlet on Long Island. Sometimes I think I schedule my yearly trips there just to visit that outlet!

I like Pottery Barn but usually avoid looking because I can't afford it. I have shown good restraint by not looking at the kids stuff :teeth:

Slightly off topic, but I wanted to buy a white tie-up shade for my kitchen window. Found one I really liked for $30 at PB, but decided to get a another one that was cheaper elsewhere. Well, that one came and I hate it, so I am sending it back. Went back to order the Pottery Barn shade and it is on CLEARANCE  $6.99 for the shade :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cheer2: Never thought I would get something from PB for under $10!

Guilty as charged. I wasn't a Gymbo freak before my DD was born. Am a complete one now.

And PBK- ugh. They just opened their first store here in Portland in the last year. I've been in twice. What I love are those big wall organizational things for toys, art supplies, etc...But for a thousand dollars or so? Not in our budget. We are just redoing the boy's room right now; I am really debating if I want to go down there tonight and browse the clearance. I painted their room the traditional PBK colors of a dark red and chambray blue with white accents. I ordered some laminated maps from Barnes & Noble to put on the wall (PBK catalog inspired a year or so ago) and just want to see if they have any other goodies for not too much that would go.

I also need to hit another store that's dangerous- Container Store!

well - I have on many occassions taken the Pottery Barn catolog and then gone to places such as Hobby Lobby and Target and recreated to the looks for much much less.

I bought a Pottery Barn quilt once for the back of our couch. But I had to pack it away because the stress seeing children with muddy hands and feet, purple popsicles, and open cans of Hi C fruit punch lurking around it like they were actually going to touch it was giving me a rash.

So now I have a $$$$ quilt decorating my upstairs linen closet.

Alice, there was a Bermuda bedding set that came in red/blue/white for boys that's on clearance. You may have already seen it, but it looked really cute for boys' rooms.

I love PBK! DS's room is the under-the-sea theme. I bought it all off ebay much cheaper. ;)

I have had bad luck with PBK furniture. It normally arrives damaged. I had to return a book case 3x, a slipcover 2x and a bedframe from PB took 4x to get it right. I refuse to buy any more furniture through the mail from them.

We have a PB outlet in town and I love it!
