Has anyone around here purchased a couch from Pottery Barn. I like that they are slipcovered, and can be changed/cleaned. However, they are a bit dear. Interested in feedback.

Thanks.

We just bought a slipcovered couch and chair with ottoman from Crate and Barrel (just like a Pottery Barn).

I LOVE IT!!!!!!!

It was very expensive, but I have been wanting one for a long time so I decided to take the plunge. Our slipcovers can be washed in the washing machine, which was a big selling point (with three kids). I am extremely happy with my decision.

We got an off-white denim slipcover for the chouch and a floral slipcover for the chair and ottoman. The couch came with two throw pillows in the off-white denim and we purchased two extra throw pillows in the floral to tie in with the chair. It's very "shabby chic".

And about comfort......awesome!!!! When you lay on the couch you just sink. My husband said "being in the dog house will be a treat". Hmmm, maybe when I'm mad at him I'll sleep on the couch instead.

Anyway, the family gives it two thumbs up!!! I hope this helps.

I've been meaning to get a couch that's less comfortable. I guess one of these wouldn't work for me.

JohnTBap,

I realize people choose a couch that is comfortable to them.....the reason I brought up the "comfortness" is because the cushions and pillows have feathers and down in them, rather than just polyester fiber, therefore adding to the "comfort" factor. Next time I will be more specific.

Oh no, I just mean that the couch I have is TOOOOOO comfortable and any time that I sit on it to watch a movie I am asleep in minutes! I need something probably Victorian with very little cushion. Perhaps a deacon's bench even. :)

Well, if you are anything like my husband, even a "deacon's bench" won't keep you awake during a movie. ;)

I bought a sectional with slipcovers from PB last year and LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT !!!! It's the PB Basic line with Sage colored Twill covers. It was pretty expensive, but worth every penny. DH is a heavy snorer. So when he gets a little too loud, I sleep on the couch. Very comfy!!!

I really like being able to take the covers off the cushions and wash them.

Thanks for the responses. I really like the slipcover idea. DS is seven and an absolute slob (takes after his dad). The covers I'm looking at are that velvet like fabric and would require dry cleaning, but that's a huge improvement of what I'm dealing with at the moment.

Then the question is down or poly. They both felt great to me, the down a little bit more comfortable. The only problem I could forsee with the down, is that it might get a little flat in a few years.

I'm going to be purchasing both the couch and loveseat, so this is going to be a big investment for me. Thanks again for the feedback.
