My work is having a potluck on Monday. I am on call for the hospital this weekend so time in the kitchen isn't likely. I was thinking something easy I could throw in my crockpot and let cook in the work kitchen Monday morning? Any popular finger food ideas? There are about 25 people in my department. Thanks in advance!

What about chili, sloppy joes, meatballs or pulled pork sandwiches? I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for... Maybe sweet and sour keilbasa?

As a WAHM, I love, love, love my crock pot and use it at least 2 - 3x a week. Quick appetizer -- pick up the premade frozen meatball, add you favorite sauce, let the crock pot do the work. Always a winner!

Velveeta and Salsa
Chili (no beans) and cream cheese
Costco's artichoke dip
Lil Smokies with BBQ Sauce
Nacho cheese

You could get chicken drummies and pour in some BBQ sauce and be done or you could do what I do when I don't have time to cook and grab a cheese tray and some crackers from the grocery store on the way to work.

Not exactly a finger food, but I do make this often for pot lucks at the office..take a bag of southern style hash browns, a half an onion chopped, a can of cream of chicken soup, a can of cheddar cheese soup, 8 oz of sour cream and some shredded cheddar cheese..mix together and let cook..it is the best cheesy potatoes recipe ever and people get so much finger food and stuff that this is usually a big hit and I never have any to take home

Our all time favorite is pulled pork. If you are looking for more finger food type, you can serve it with mini buns. I serve it with a side of coleslaw...some put it on their mini bun. Always a hit for us...

When we had potluck dinners at work one of the ladies would make the most delicious beans in her crock pot. She did have liquor in them so we all made sure our one friend who went to AA was always told so he wouldn't eat the beans.

Some super easy ideas are:

1) The frozen meatballs (someone else suggested above). Buy a bag and throw in a couple of jars of spaghetti sauce...they're really good.

2) Grab a couple of packages of little smokies sausages and add some BBQ sauce.

Not the healthiest food, but they always seem to be popular at potlucks.

I think the pork-beer-BBQ sauce recipe listed above sounds yummy!!!

2lbs hotdogs, cut into 3's
2lbs if bacon, cut into 2's
2lbs of brown sugar
toothpicks

wrap the bacon around the hotdogs and hold together with a toothpick place half in crock pot.
cover with 1lb of brown sugar
place other half in, cover with rest of brown sugar

cook on high for about 5 hrs.

we usually to all this the night before, place in fridge, then heat up the day of the party

YUMMO!

I vote for the pulled pork.

I usually use some pork tenderloin (but you can use a shoulder or butt also), a bottle of barbeque sauce and a little more liquid (beer is good).

For pot lucks, I also like to get the mini-rolls (as another poster said) versus the large rolls that way everyone gets a taste--as it should be for a pot luck. You can even get the bagged cole slaw and some Marie' Cole Slaw dressing and it's actually not bad for a "semi-homemade" kind of thing.

Pulled pork seems to be popular and easy! I have never done this before. Do I just put the pork directly in the crockpot in one piece and pour the sauce over it? When do I do the pulling part? Sorry if these are silly questions....pulled pork not so common the northwest I guess!

One more question...what size piece of meat to make about 20-25 mini sandwiches? Will look for mini buns or rolls at the store. Thanks!

You can use any cut of pork, but I like either a boston butt, or picnic. If you use a loin, leave the fat on.

Put in whole and use whatever BBQ sauce you like. I actually use Pace Picante Sauce and a couple of bottles of beer. And save the BBQ for serving.

Cook as long as possible on low, at least 6-8 hours. The longer the better, you can't overcook. At the end pull apart with 2 forks, if if pulls easy, it is done!

We like kielbasa and sauerkraut. I just put a couple jars or bags of saurkraut and slice the sausage in bite sized slices. It gets all blended in and yummy.
