Looking for a little advice about a potential trip in February...

I am thinking about a split stay between OKW and VB. It will be just DBF and I. (An online search earlier today shows availability for our dates for both options.)

Which would you do?

Option A
Arrive Vero Beach mid afternoon on Saturday
3 nights Vero Beach Studio or Ocean View

Travel from Vero Beach to Orlando mid-day on Tuesday

5 nights OKW 1BR
Leave OKW late morning on Sunday

or

Option B
Arrive after 10 p.m. Orlando on Friday
5 nights OKW Studio

Travel from Orlando to Vero Beach mid-day Wednesday

3 nights Vero Beach 1BR
Leave Vero Beach mid-day on Saturday

Option A would be a better travel/flight schedule and includes more days in a 1 BR. Option B is fewer points.

A few notes about us:
We both have annual passes and are in Orlando/WDW 3-5 a year.

We are looking for a relaxing trip and we will be renting a car for the entirety of the trip.

We own at BWV and have stayed at several other WDW DVC resorts, but never OKW. I loved the vibe at OKW when we ate at Olivia's earlier this month. (We are also considering OKW/DCL split, but leaning towards OKW/VB for a number of reasons.)

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I would prefer Option B because I would rather relax at VB at the end; however I would go with Option A because I like to get to the resort earlier in the day.

Is there any way you could come in to OKW mid/late afternoon on Saturday?

In a perfect world, I would get OKW mid/late afternoon Saturday. Stay the 5 nights. Then switch to VB mid day Thursday and leave on Sunday.

You asked what would we do::yes::

Thanks for the response! Your plan is a goid one, but the second weekend is right before President's Day and VB doesn't have availability Saturday night. :-(

Normally I would go with having VB second but rooms and travel matter to me too and if it's a better schedule I'd go VB (definitely the OVIR) followed by the 1BR at OKW.

I will always take an OVIR at VB because the many of the larger villas have vegetation views, not of the ocean. There are ocean view to be had, but I'm guessing everyone has a request for one.

So, I would go with option A.

After the MC in January, I'm going to VB OVIR and then to WDW, with a split stay in AKV and BWV.::yes::

Thanks! I appreciate the feedback, it helped me really look at why i was leaning towards VB then OKW. I think what it boils down to is that I'm nervous of the vacation ending on a sour note if we have bad/cold weather. I know how to make a game plan bad/cold weather in WDW, but not VB.

We aren't expecting frolics in the surf, but would enjoy some peaceful walk along the beach and reading books on the verandah while sipping coffee and/or wine.

Any thoughts on what to do on bad weather days?

I was with a friend last January, and will be there again this January, and walks on the beach and resort activities kept us busy when we wanted to be. We enjoyed the Fort Pierce Manatee Center, and a boat ride from the Environmental learning center that's near the resort. We saw lots of dolphins on that boat ride and learned a lot about the area.
