Hi All,

I was surfing today and came accross the statement below from Halifax Airport. Out of curiousity I checked the site for the flight status of all flights in and out since today is foggy. Well they weren't kidding about potential delays...I would go so far as your flight has a great chance of being canceled! :earseek:

check out the photos... http://www.kodakgallery.com/I.jsp?c=6wb9jw5.tn48odx&x=0&y=-kcnzmt

Traveler Advisory

June 28, 2005

The runways at Halifax International Airport are undergoing significant reconstruction. This work, which includes upgrades to airfield pavement and lighting, is part of a long-term runway maintenance program, which will take several years to complete. The airport has not undergone such a major runway rehabilitation since 1987.

Over the next four weeks the project will be at a critical phase as the Airport’s Instrument Landing Systems will not be available to assist pilots in landing during inclement weather. As a result, there may be flight delays during times of reduced or poor visibility (especially fog).

Travelers are urged to check with their airline directly for the current status of their flight.

we're right on the coast, and it's not too often that I can't see my neighbour's house!!

...foggy, rainy and cold :umbrella:

Better than snow!!

:sunny:

I leave Wednesday.
I may have to hunt down the people at the airport...

Delta has said they'd get us out on the next flight - and I have to call the hotels to get things put on hold...sigh.

Cross your fingers for me. :sad2:

This may sound stupid, but I heard they were only doing it on the weekends (the work). That means they won't disrupt the business travel just the leisure travel.

Have a great trip!

Regs,

That would rock so very much I would then jump up and down and hug you (and I don't even know you...although I agree with your very excellent musical tastes) - must do more research.

This is not good news! My 13 yo DD is flying into Halifax next MOnday and this will be her first time flying solo! She has flown many times before so the flying will not be a problem - now if she ends up in New Brunswick like some of the flights this past weekend - that could pose a problem!

Let's hope for clear skies and no fog!
