I agree too!! I'd even be game for a "Monday" or "Thursday" - just "the day" sort of thing. That still allows for folks who are not on in the morning, they can hit it any time during the day.

.
but they would never get a chance to start one, and to be fair to everyone, it should just be 24 hours , it will roll back around to the morning again anyway

Not sure when the new time is but I am leaving here in less than four hours for my drive so I put up this. Shops and buildings on Main Street USA

Good point. I didn't think about that.

Hey Big Sis!

Instead of just sitting around on the bench all day, why don't you get scanning??? :rotfl2:

Jud

Big Sis - That's exactly what I did for several weekends a few years ago. I scanned in Disney photos from 1979 - 2002. I did it all myself but you can sometimes find decent "Groupon" deals to get them professionally scanned.

I've also had some slides professionally scanned and still ended up touching them up myself after scanning.

It was all worth it though!

Since no one has made a post other than Kaewin, lets use the shops and buildings on Main Street USA

once again, off topic, but since ya'll were talking about scanning, what do you use to scan you old pictures...an old fashioned flatbed scanner or one of the new hand held scanners?

First, OFFICIALLY, the new starter was posted by Steamboat at about 8pm, so that will be the next start time. (Keeps that time moving forward and soon you morning people will be happy again if only for a while!)
:badpc:

Scanning! Have done TONS of it!!! Including from 1/2 inch negatives!!!! Remember 110 film??? My first visit to WDW was shot with a Pocket 40 Instamatic!

I use an Epson Perfection 1670, which I bought rebuilt from the factory and it has a built in facility for slide and negative work, but otherwise is a traditional flat bed scanner, and one of exceptional quality!

The key to scanning negs and slides is near infinite patience and a high quality brush which I prefer to the air can, and cleaning each slide carefully before scanning. When your "landscape" is captured in a half inch of space, a spec of dust turns into a big rock!

I just scanned on whatever printer/scanner I had at the time. You can go online and read lots about scanning (e.g. dpi settings etc.). I used to scan 2 or 3 pictures at a time and then divide them using Photoshop Elements and then crop, clean them up. Many of my old pictures required sharpening to bring them into better focus.

If you use a photo editing program such as Picasa (free from Google) or Photoshop Elements etc. you can really clean up old pictures plus preserve them for storage purposes.

And if your pictures are in those "sticky" magnetic page albums PLEASE take them out immediately! The adhesive in those albums will seep through the pictures and ruin them. If they stick to the page, gently slide dental floss underneath to loosen them or scan right from the album page.

If you want to see the results of my scanning work, look at my link below and scroll down to the Disney category and then scroll down to my 1979 or 1990s era pictures.

Good luck!
