I just wanted to know if anyone else thinks Disney is milking the POTC movies a bit much? Kind of like Dreamworks has done with Shrek. I don't get it, Disney used to be the mark everyone tried to reach when it came to quality films, and now the ones they do without Pixar, FLOP! What happened???

"Tangled" was done without Pixar, and it exceeded expectations, go figure.

As long as the Pirates movies make loads of money, Disney will keep making them. It's the nature of many franchises to over-do them ad nauseum. Remember the Warner Bros. "Batman" with Michael Keaton? Then the cast changed after a couple movies, Val Kilmer and then George Clooney took over. George joked that he killed that franchise. Well, that was partly true...until the franchise was resurrected with Christian Bale. Spiderman had a good run of franchise films, and it's been scheduled to be resurrected, too.

If these films completely flop, Disney will stop making them.

The Princess and the Frog was another non-Pixar movie that was successful. :)

True on Princess & Frog. I am glad that they went back and did hand drawn. As far as Tangled, I was unaware they did that alone :wizard:

Wall Street meets the Dark Knight? :rotfl2:

Michael Keaton plays a mean Ken and Batman. :thumbsup2

I meant Michael Keaton, of course, silly. Did you know his REAL name is Michael Douglas? I think that's why I had a weird moment in there.
And you have to admit, Michael Keaton has a huge range. He's good at drama and comedy.

I like the Pirate Movies...but you are right...as long as they make money, Disney will continue to produce them.
