POTC Today

I'm at DL today and yes, the lines were to the end of Main Street at 8:00. I also heard 3 hour wait. We opted to not get in line and hopped on lots of other rides instead. The bummer was that they were dismantling the bleachers and screen so they had a lot blocked off and you were forced to go around Adventureland to get to Splash and BMTRR. WAAAYYYY too many people trying to squeeze by. We had to get out of there. We headed to CA and it seemed almost empty.

Hi!!

Well, we got there at 10am and the line was about 60 minutes. Around 2:30 the line was twice as long as it was at 10 but we decided to brave it anyhow. Cast member in front of attraction told us the wait was 2.5 hours when we got in line. However, we were thru the line and off the ride by 3:30 so I think they exaggerate a bit.

Anyway, the new additions are great and the wait no matter how bad it looks, really isn't that bad!!

The line was way to long for us to even try. It looked like at least a 2+ hour wait and that is what they were telling us too. The rest of the park is crazy as well. I was very dissapointed at the crowds - I know it is summer but I though a Monday would not be so bad of crowds. DCA was not to bad as previously mentioned. We couldn't even get to Haunted Mansion or Splash due to crowds - well if we wanted to fight everyone we would have but choose to leave the park instead. Not sure if we want to brave it tomorrow or not. May just go home.

Weather is hot and humid.

I just returned from Disneyland a few hours ago and I can tell you that it was crazy busy the whole time we were there (fri-today). The line for pirates was up to 4 hour waits today. The line was running all the way down Main Street. It was unbeleiveable! Needless to say, we did not ride it. I love that ride a lot, but I would never wait 4 hours to ride it!

Besides it being super crowded, it was super hot!

Ok, I just came back tonight, Monday night 11pm opening day CA time. I arrived Dland around 5:30pm. Went straight to the POTC ride got there around 6:00p.m.

It was only a 40 minute wait for us. We must have lucked out! Woo Hoo!

My suggestion- is either get there once the gates open early morning, or get there late evening like I did, and make sure one of the parades is going down Main street during that time. Most likely the crowds will be at the parade than at POTC ride.

Or go in line around 9pm- 9:30pm during the Firework show.

The crowds were heavy today, but the POTC line went fairly quickly and smoothly.

Have Fun! pirate:

The CMs were overestimating the wait times. I got in line for POTC at 8:40 in Town Square. The CMs there were saying it was a 2-4 hour wait. I was off the ride at 10am (and would have been off sooner, but apparently boats were getting stuck because they were overloading them). I rode it again, getting in line a little after 6. We were off the ride at 7. I won't give anything away, either, except the new special effects are amazing.

You must have been in line with us. I forgot my AP and had to get a comp ticket and that stupid line took just as long as the priates line.
They claimed 120 minutes, but I was in line at 10 after 6 and out of the ride at 7:15.

Liked most of the changes, but Davy Jones was 27 different kinds of stupid.

for those of you who want to know yesterday there were about 60,000 people at disneyland. Also if any of you are going today fantasmic may happen tonight its posted as tentative depending on how fast they take down the pirates premiere stuff

It didn't feel that crowded around dinner time.

In fact, the only reason it took so long to get in, was because they only had 4 turnstyles open and one ticket booth.

I still don't see how they can even run fantasmic with the way they've set up the pirates line. Unless they're changing the routing. Right now it uses most of the Fantasmic viewing area.
