Hey guys, I'm new to the board just wanted to say hello

also i was wondering if there was any talk of changing the pirates ride sicne the movie has come out?? If so I hope there is no major reconstruction like with the tiki room!

I would say no since there were numerous referrences to the ride in its' current state.

Unless, of course, they'd like to add some animatronic Depp and Bloom characters. That might be pretty cool.

No matter how much they like that movie, people would flip.

I'd flip.

I wouldn't mind if they added a jazzed up new effect or two, like that flaming skull thing they were talking about.

I noticed that in Florida wdw, they could make pirates better by spacing out the voices more in the caves; the no fear of curses says ye properly warned ye be says I and the these may be the last friendly words you hear lines both go at about the same point; if they'd space them out more they'd be more clear and understandable, and more like the disneyland version even though the florida caves are shorter.

Disney's movie opened to enthusiastic reviews, but that doesn't mean the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at the Magic Kingdom will go to Hollywood. A spokesman says there are no plans to update the thirtysomething fun house so that it's like the Jerry Bruckheimer supernatural swashbuckler. Pirates is "among the most popular attractions at Disney World," the spokesman said. "It's cherished by our guests, so there are no plans to change it."

I know --- get rid of those poor guys tied in chairs on top of the treasure pile and put Capt. Jack Sparrow and Will Turner sword fighting with the pirates!!!


And just before your boat exits the ride, have a screeching monkey drop down in front of you!!!

Since it's something Walt worked on, and I think it's the last thing he worked on, I doubt they'd change it. But additions would be cool! I like the idea about Captain Jack Sparrow sword fighting with the other Captain on the treasure!

I'd flip less about adding an AudioDeppamatronic for "keepin' it fresh for t'day's yout'" reasons than I did about changing the chase scenes for no valid reasons whatsoever.

My guts tell me the movie tie-in at the ride will be a nod-and-wink to the Larcenous Monkey "cookie" at the end of the Movie credits. While most folks are distracted preparing themselves to disemboat, little AudioAnimaMonkeys will steal shiny objects from their bags...

There is that section in Spaceship Earth where Rome is burning and the odor is in the air... DW and I always thought that odor should be added to the end of PotC. We also think the cannon battle between the ship and the fortress could be a little more intense.

I love the POTC ride and I love the POTC movie. But if Disney decides to "update" the ride with things from the movie, I think the public would have them walking the plank. Changing the ride to go with the movie would just be sooooooo wrong.
