POTC ride & Captain Barbossa

I couldn't find Captain Barbossa on the POTC ride despite the CM telling me that he was the audio animatronic at the beginning of the ride in the fort attack scene. We rode it again and DW and I were pretty positive that wasn't him - in fact, I'm pretty sure it was the same pirate before the refurb. Has anyone else heard anything about this?

My wife and I swear that he wasn't there on Sunday! Could he have been broken and replaced temporarily?

My wife and I swear that he wasn't there on Sunday! Could he have been broken and replaced temporarily?

We rode it 3 times on Sunday & it was definitely there when we went - but my kids SWORE that it was a rooster on the one pirate's head a few days before, and this time it was a hen - bizarre! I think we all must have bad vision from Disney over-planning. That's what I'm attributing the twitching to, as well as spotting Hidden Mickeys in EVERYTHING.

Did anyone feel the air canon during that fight sequence? My brother and I were sitting there and at the same time said, "Holy crap!" as we felt this burst of air go whizzing by our heads. LOL It was really wild!!

I loved the effect at the beginning of the ride with the waterfall.

LOL when we were there 2 weeks ago we were on and felt the air cannons..actually scared the crap out of myself and my daughter..lol We laughed after, but really made me jump

Yes the air cannons are neat! I had read on here that many people were disappointed with the re-vamping of POTC to include the new charcaters. I disagree 100% - I think the ride is now complete. (Ok a little more of a drop in the beginning would be nice to jazz it up!) I LOVE the new things! Sure I loved it the old way but - and don't throw things at me for this - it was getting a little stale for me. The new additions are just what it needed!

As far as Barbossa is concerned. - I think you hear his voice during that scene? Am I crazy? I remember hearing him talk during the cannon attack. And the animatronic character definately looks like the Barbossa from the film. I didn't know they added him to the ride, I was so excited to see Captain Jack. So that was a nice suprise for me to see another character from the film added to the ride. I'm sure someone on here has a picture of him. I'm sure we do, but I havn't the foggiest clue how to get it on here. (I'm just not good at that sort of thing)

I'm with you on that one! We had such a whirlwind, quick trip that it's all together possible

I'm also with you on that one! I felt as though the changes were very well done and fit very well into the ride.
