POTC Restaurant - Didn't there used to be one?

I admit it's been a while since I've been to Disneyland (2000) but have they gotten rid of their restaurant that was inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride?

We are looking into taking the kids to Disneyland and California Adventure vs. WDW just to change things up and would appreciate any information on great places to eat. We normally do the dining plan - is this available at Disneyland?

What about hotels out there? Last time we were there we stayed off property. Any input is appreciated as the West Coast is all new to us. Thanks!

No, it's still there - the Blue Bayou Restaurant.

Sorry, don't know about dining plans, but I don't think so.

The restaurant is still there - Blue Bayou.

They offer a "dining plan" but it's not like WDW's and is not recommended. There is no savings (you get vouchers valued at exactly what you pay) and you don't get change back, so you could actually lose money.

The Blue Bayou is lovely, but pricey. It's usually necessary to make reservations, and if you want a waterside table get there a bit early, it usually takes an extra 15-20 minutes to get seated there. A waterside table allows you to see the boats going by, and that's my favorite thing about eating there.

Disneyland does have a dining plan, but it's not like the WDW one, you don't actually save any money. The dining plan consists of vouchers that you purchase at face value. The vouchers are in increments of no smaller than $5, and if you use a voucher for less than face value you don't get change at all, so you can actually lose money. It can be worth the lack of hassle in making sure you don't go over budget on food, but again, you wouldn't actually save any money like with the WDW plan.

i used to say yes to disney dinning plan but as of may ive been on the gc band wagon saves mo0ney and what you dont use goes for stuff not a wasted voucher

As the previous posters have said, the Blue Bayou is still there. My DW and I make it a point to eat there at least once each time we visit DLR. Try to get a table next to the water.

Depending on when you visit the park, you may want to make advanced dining reservations before your trip. It is very popular, and the wait time for walk-ups could be long.

Yep, Blue Bayou. We just ate there last Sunday!
