POTC Refurbishment COMING

Sorry guys. When we went in June of 06 POTC was down along with the Finding Nemo subs(they were making them the Finding Nemo subs). It sucked but, didn't ruin our trip. Plenty of other rides.

Where on the Disneyland website can I find a list for closures for we will be there (October - so it's not on the calendar yet for the site) ??
:goodvibes

if you check Sept 7th you can see that POTC is closed and it says "fall" after that, but complete dates are not listed.

I'm so sad, this will be my DH's first trip and POTC is one of our WDW favorites so I wanted him to be able to experience DLR's version!

So, I know I've said it many times before but here it goes...

There are LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of amazing things to do, see, and experience at DLR. If you are going for ONE thing --- I might suggest looking around a bit, there's lots of other stuff there. (And yes, that was supposed to be somewhat funny!)

I know that many people enjoy PotC and that for some, this may be a first trip, first in a longtime trip, or last trip for a long time, but ONE attraction is truly not going to make or break your trip. And, yes, I do know and I do understand. I waited 10 years and flew 3,000 miles to be able to see the Country Bear Jamboree at WDW only to be greeted by a "Sorry We're Hibernating" sign.

It was on our "must see" list. I was SUPER excited about it. I had been waiting and waiting to see it. And - booey. But we still had a great time. Why? We were at WDW! We took a picture in front of the "Hibernating" sign for the scrapbook and went about our fun.

It stinks. It's a bummer. But it really really really does not mean your trip is ruined. Trust me. I know. :wizard:

P.S. I would also be cautious about changing dates due to a not-yet-officially-announced closure. After all, you never know if the dates could change or if it could be closed on a random day anyhoo due to unforeseen happenings. HTH with a little perspective. :wizard:

Wow, I can't believe that Disney doesn't keep this info available :confused3 I mean, people plan holidays around this I am sure.

I haven't actually checked, but do they update on a "per day" basis for closures?? Like if I looked up July 17 on their calendar, would it show what's down??

Thanks guys!!

It is because Disney probably has not decided for sure. Rumors are easy to talk about for forums like this. Disney can't be putting out "we are thinking about closing such and such" and then change their mind. They have to announce things decisively. So they wait until they know for sure.

I am with Dreams on this - about 99% ;). I have been reading MousePlanet and MiceAge long enough to know that the long range information they put out does have merit. And I do use their info to some degree to plan.

But even then, I do not lock in plans until a month before a trip - by which time I know pretty solidly what is coming up. The only long term things I need to do are to make hotel reservations. Which can be cancelled. I make dining reservations for Blue Bayou or WOC AG 2 months in advance - both of which can be cancelled. Flights are not easily cancelled and those I wait on as long possible - up to a month before.

This gives us the maximum flexibility to work with park closures and changes - as well as personal schedules of family members.
