We will be in Disney World March 13-17. I see that my favorite ride Pirates of the Caribbean will be closed through March 18. This is an unlikely scenario, I know, but has anyone ever experienced a ride opening from refurbishment EARLIER than a posted date? I am just curious if there is even the teeniest chance something could change and we could ride Pirates.

I don't think she's going away. I think they are just not going to sell her off.
She’s staying, but she’s becoming a pirate, not a bride for sale. They are switching the whole bride auction scene to a goods auction, so the women will be carrying items.

Edit: just realized you meant sell her in the scene! Originally I thought you meant sell the whole animatronic!!! :confused3

It’s unlikely, but not unheard of to have soft openings for rides prior to their official opening date. So I would just keep track of various Disney twitter accounts because they will probably report if they hear it is open. For example, at DLR, the matterhorn has a refurb last year and they did a soft opening the day before it was supposed to open, albeit that was a much longer refurb than the upcoming pirates, so who knows? Good luck!

Now that would be some kind of auction. There would be legions of Disney fans shouting "We wants the Redhead!"

Usually the issue is staffing. By the time they realize that the refurb is moving quicker than expected they are past the deadline for staffing requests, but anything is possible.

One year we went and they did the opposite, they started a day early. It was when they added Captain Sparrow.

This was a band trip so we were back stage getting ready for the parade and all I saw of PotC was a fire hose draining the water from the attraction. :(

I will also be there until the 17th and it's such a bummer when an attraction opens the day after you leave

Same here. This will be our THIRD Disney trip where POTC is in refurb! Once at WDW, then DL, now back to WDW :( My favorite ride too!

I would agree that it's unlikely but definitely keep your eyes peeled! One trip, Spaceship Earth was down for refurb and I was shocked to see it operating shortly before it was scheduled to come back up. I do remember that refurb being longer than a shorter 3-week one but anything can happen! I do hope you get some ride pixie dust, as POTC is one of my favorites!
