Is there a spot in Dl where the kids can stuff a box of MLP parts and PH parts? I know my kids will love that!

I also bumped it up to the first page (for now) too.

As for MLP (My Little Pony), I heard there was a place in Toontown, but am not positive. Rumors.... Rumors.....

I would love to know the answer to the MLP as I am a collector, and I have a Golden Delicious who is wanting to dress up as Princess Aurora!!

Mr. Potato Head used to be available with all his Disney parts in the Gag Factory in ToonTown - I even got my stuff for him there in December 2007. However, when I returned to the Gag Factory in October 2008 and December 2008, he was gone. I asked a CM there about it, and they confirmed that there would be no more taters in Gag Factory. One CM even spotted Mr. Potato's parts in boxes out in a back alleyway behind Gag Factory. Since the TSMM ride is in DCA, I assume they want to draw people over to DCA so if they limit Mr. Potato Head's availability to the Enginears store, people will have to go into DCA to get him. But he is gone from the Gag Factory. Too bad. I liked that location. But I can see why they want to keep him exclusively in DCA....that is, unless he is located in some other DL shops that I just don't know about?

Unless something has changed since I was there (almost a year ago) -- they do not have the MLP stuff at Disneyland.

I haven't seen MLP at DLR.

As for the gag factory, I felt it was an awful location...tiny little cramped area. Also, when you're buying a box, you want to KNOW that there isn't "other" stuff at another location. You want to know that what you see is all they have. And when we went to Gag factory, their selection was tiny and they didn't have everything EnginEars (or whatever the DCA store is called) had. So if I'd bought a box there then seen the bigger selection at the DCA store I would not have been happy. Personally.

I couldn't agree more Molly. You said exactly what I wanted to say!!!

I have had that happen before, where I bought pieces of a collection in one place and then found out I could have gotten more or better ones in another location. I just assumed it came with the territory of buying collectible-type things! It is an evil ploy to get me to spend more money! In any case, unless they sell Mr. Potato Heads in the Emporium or in one of the other shops in DL, I think DCA's Enginears is the only place to find him. And that makes a lot of sense for DLR, if they are trying to lure people over to DCA. You know, now that I think of it, I didn't even look at the tater appendages on this past December trip to see if there were any nifty new holiday pieces. I got the DLR tree with Mickey icons and the Santa Mickey Ears hat in 2007, but I didn't think to check Enginears last month to see if they had anything new.

I agree with Molly. I like the idea of him being in one spot and everything for him being there and only there. That way I know I have the whole selection and wont wonder what is in another store. :)

I don't have a problem at all with Mr. Potato Head being in one location. It's easier for me, too, if I don't have to walk back and forth to see which parts are in what shop and later realize that I missed getting a cool part because I hit the wrong store. But I just assumed that selling things in more than one location with different pieces in each place comes with the collecting territory because it gets people to spend more money. That is what I have always encountered in my collecting endeavors. And I just personally happened to like the Gag Factory location because it is tucked away and not everyone goes all the way back there to shop (meaning there were lots of parts available), whereas Enginears is right at the front of DCA where nobody can miss it and some of the parts may have been gone. But it's a moot point for me now because he is not in the Gag Factory anymore! Tater doesn't live there anymore! He is where he technically should be - in DCA, where the TSMM ride is.

I should mention that in Sept. 2007, when I was looking at Potato parts and telling my friends that I wanted to get a Potato Head (I hadn't had one since I was a kid), one of my friends laughed sarcastically and made some remark as if to make me look like a fool for wanting a Potato with Disney parts. We were short on time so I didn't get one then. So when we went back in Dec. 2007 and hit the Gag Factory, I announced I was on a Potato mission and began to start collecting my parts. As soon as I held up the Santa Mickey Ears and the Christmas tree with Mickey icons on it and put them in the box, my friend - yes, the same friend who scoffed at me just 3 months earlier - suddenly grabbed a box and said, "Eighteen bucks is a good price!" She began furiously grabbing pieces from the bins and tossing them in the box, moving things around like a madwoman to try to fit in as much as possible. My other friend was helping grab pieces for us. "Give me another arm!" shouted my once-cynical, newfound Potato-loving friend.:rotfl: :lmao: "I'd better get an extra tree just in case! Do you see any extra trees?! Oh, there's one, waaaay in the back of that bin. I think I can get it..." And suddenly she was shoving her hand into a bin filled with Dumbo ears or something similar to grab a Christmas tree that was stuck underneath.

Funny how people catch that Disney fever...or become victims of the Snowball Effect. One second, they're making fun of me because I want a Mr. Potato Head, and the next second, they are rummaging through bin after bin after bin to make sure they didn't miss any of the cool attachments, spud parts flying around to and fro.:lmao:

that is too funny sherry! I do like the gag factory store also! But it can get quite crowded during the summer! Of course I live in toontown now so I spend some time there. I dont think gag factory is a bad location...just want everything in one spot. I get annoyed when you find something you really like and you say "oh I'll grab it later" only when later comes you either dont remember where you found it, cant find it in any other stores or it sold out lol Those sneaky disney peoples! :)

Disney is very sneaky, indeed, with their tactics in getting people to buy stuff. Fortunately, I avoided the Snowball Effect in December and didn't buy anything, but I know I saw stuff there that probably won't be available a year form now. Make it limited edition stuff and people will snap it up!

The Gag Factory used to be even worse, crowd-wise. The last few times I went in there it was not too bad, but I remember for the first several years after ToonTown opened, that shop was CRAZY busy! Now, I think some of the crowds in the store have died down a wee bit becauseof the geographical location. A lot of people just don't want to walk all the way back to ToonTown, or if they do, they simply don't see the store there. So that works for those of us who want to get something that may be sold out in the Emporium or the China Closet or elsewhere. Chances are it will still be available in the GF because of its inconvenient placement in DL!:rotfl:

Yes, I snickered at my friend - who insists on calling Disneyland "Dizzyland," which drives me up the wall - when she suddenly started grasping for Potato parts after scoffing at me for wanting a Disney-fied Mr. Potato Head. Never mind the stuffed animal collection she and her husband cultivated fairly recently - my wanting a Mr. Potato Head was the odd thing here! Ha ha! I think she ran smack dab into the dreaded, infamous Disney Snowball and suddenly found herself stuffing a Potato box with pieces!:rotfl2:

P.S. I know another woman (not a friend - in fact, I cannot stand the wench, and she is married to a guy who used to be a really good friend of mine, who is now not allowed to talk to me ever again) who is a huge fan of the American Girls characters, and she drags her husband (my former friend) to eat at the little restaurant and take pictures with the dolls at the table. They don't have any kids. It's just them. And I KNOW he must hate having to sit there taking pictures with dolls at a table in the American Girls store/restaurant. Hmmm...does the word 'whipped' come to mind?:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: dolls at the table? Really...interesting. I used to read those books but I was like....9 :lmao: Oh well...to each their own. Some people just do things that I find strange and many things I do may be strange to them. I do like that toontown isn't as crazy as it was the first few years but during the summer a lot of families make their way there and it can be crowded! It's probably the FL overflow
