What is sauteed potato gnocchi at Le Cellier and is it good? Has anyone tried the chicken breast and how was that? Thanks!

Gnocchi is a potato dumpling-like pasta. You've never had it before? You will find that most people are not intimately familiar with every menu item of every restaurant. Your best bet is to dine there and try it for yourself.

Some dishes are "headliner" dishes that are very popular, so if you had asked about their steak dishes, you'd probably get a gazillion responses of "It's good".

Gnocchi, can be very good or very bad. In general potato gnocchi involves, boiled starchy russet potatoes, some flour and salt (IMO no egg although it is easier to make using some egg as a binder) what sounds easy is very time consuming and requires lots of patience.

On our last few visits we did not enjoy the gnocchi at Le Cellier, it was very rubbery/soggy. I am sure it just depends on the day and the way it was made. I have made some very good gnocchi and some very bad rubbery gnocchi as well.

Also, my DD10 usually orders the chicken and is quite happy. We usually don't go to Le Cellier for the red meat, go figure. DS8 and I always share the salmon, DD10 the chicken, and DH usually also gets seafood, last visit I believe it was Halibut.

Gnocchi is awesome! But that said Ive never had it at Le cellier but ive had Tony's Town Squares and Tutto Italia's and it was great!

There is a youtube video of Hitler trying to get a Le Cellier ADR but could not and he though the gnocchi was exquisite!

I had the chicken breast 2 weeks ago. I subbed my side as the cream cheese mashed potatoes. Honestly, I didn't like it at all. It was very dry and the skin was left on and was soft and just not good. It was the worst meal of the trip for me and I ate alot since I was on deluxe dining. I honestly cannot recommend this dish.

Had the gnocchi at Le Cellier back in May and did not enjoy it. The dumplings and eggplant were really good but I could only eat a few bites as it had so much pesto broth (aka olive oil) that it just made me sick to my stomach.:sad2:
