Posting Vacation Videos Can Get You Sued

I just read this article:

And i was wondering if anyone here has posted their vacation video from DL or DCA on youtube. And was told they had to take it down? I've never heard this happening to anyone, but thought it was kind of crazy that they could.

...Disney's stated policy leaves plenty of room for it to come after you. Theoretically, it could decide tomorrow to sue you over that vacation video of the musical parade down Main Street.

I've uploaded some ride videos from my trip in December on Youtube and they are still there. I see similar videos that have been on there for years so I don't think we are in any danger. Disney always has to keep the option open of being able to protect their intellectual property or they can lose it.

This is odd because I recall seeing a video of a cast member dressed as Pluto lose his/her temper and chase a child at Disneyland. A parent intervenes and stops him/her. I'm surprised Disney hasn't had that pulled down.

As a semi-something photographer for many years intellectual property issues are everywhere. I still do mostly film and landscapes, but if you try and make money off of a company Like Disney or really anyone else where you do not have implied rights, watchout!

My personal favorite is of Ariel just chatting away with some kids out of character.

But back on topic, I think what jtl2411 posted in spot on. The article just wants some shock value.
