Having lots of problems with postal deliveries at the moment - did you see the TV programme last week? Well it's just as bad in our area.

I need to book tickets - the 5 day consecutive pass that Universal do, and also I want to book my MNSSHP tickets. Later in the year I will be paying for AP's (probably). I am reluctant to trust these valuable items to the Royal Mail (I am sure the US postal service is fine)

My question is, is the best way to pay and then arrange to collect over there? Do you think that there will be a risk that the MNSSHP will get fully booked on Tuesday 26th October or can I wing it?

Thanks
Sue

My Annual Passes came from DHL and I had to sign for them, I can't remember now if MNSSHP tickets come like this.

For your Universal 5-day pass I recommend you use the 'will call' collection at the park. You order the ticket online via the Universal website, and they give you a booking number. On arrival at the park you find the machines (right by the entrance) and key in the reference number - I think you also need the credit card that you used to pay for the tickets too - and the tickets come out of the machine - easy! And it's cheaper than having them sent over to you (and less risky).

Anything that you purchase direct from Disney (including theme park tickets) will be delivered insured via DHL. This will give you optimum insurance protection - you should have no hesitations about ordering when the items are being sent DHL. Universal use UPS which also guarantees a safe delivery. Some online US companies such as TicketMania don't use an insured service (just standard mail) - as far as I know (Ticket Mania just used standard mail when posting our FITS passes). It's these companies you need to be wary of because with no insurance it can be difficult to reclaim the tickets if they are lost in the post.

Hi Although I can see why you are worried. not all post men/women are the same. Yes the programme did have some good points but there are alot of honest posties out there.
We recived our tickets fine.
I will say this though we ordered our tickets from Ticket Mania.
On the envelope from the USA was a sticker saying From Ticket Mania Discount Ticket Outlet just above our address.
Now as you might of guessed my hubby is a postie, and did mention how riskey this was. But there are good and bad in all walks of life.

hi pigby:wave:
i know you proberbly didn't mean any harm towards the post people as the standard of the royal mail has gone very downhill lately::yes:: but i do feel i need to defend the posties as my husband is a postman,we watched the program and there was a lot of shouting from dh:rolleyes:we also heard the reports on gmtv this morning moaning about the post going missing, but considering how many letters are posted per day the couple that did go astray are not that much(having said that none should go missing)but what they fail to tell you that royal mail has had to get casual staff in to do alot of the rounds and they either don't know what they are doing or have not had any sort of training(not their fault mind you)and all this is because they don't want to pay their postmen over time to do the extra walks(they would rather have the casuals)and now the post office has made the rounds bigger(to cut down on staff)and the men can't even take all the work out so some gets left behind:crazy:
having said all that i did moan myself about the post last week:o it took 6 days for my MIL to recive her birhtday card it should have only took 2 days
please don't take me the wrong way i am not in any way aiming this at you personally:D :D

Thanks for your replies. Please don't think I've got anything personal against postmen - it's just that I've got a complaint going on at the moment (which I've had to refer to Postwatch) concerning 3 missing parcels. Our postman was kindly leaving anything too big for the letterbox in our front garden! Despite several pleas, we still do not seem to be able to get anything taken back to the depot - they are now being left with a neighbour - any neighbour, without leaving any card to say where they have been left.

So you can see why I'm worried about ordering anything so important as tickets over the internet.

Regarding DHL - we are out at work all day - do you have to sign for the items and what happens if you are not at home when they call?

hi pigby:wave:
i totally understand why your worried about you post(i would be too)it's just if i don't be nice to the postman(my dh)i won't be going to my favourite place in october lol,i've just told dh what you postie is doing and he says he would be in trouble for not leaving any cards, i do hope you get it sorted soon::yes:: my tickets are going to my mum's address and i know her postman(his son goes to my son's school)so i have asked him to look out for any mail with an american stamp and guard them with his life:D so you can see i am too worried about my mail(just don't tell my husband);)
