My husband suprised me with a Kindle Fire for my birthday!! My only complaint so far is where the power button is located. I have turned it off several times on accident.

You can flip it so the on/off switch is on the top. I just figured this out tonight.

My Kindle Fire came last Friday. I bought a stylus, which makes using the keyboard a whole lot easier for my clumsy fingers.

Is it a special stylus? Will a Nintendo DS stylus work?

I tried a DS stylus and had no such luck. I did order a kindle stylus, it was $1.99 on amazon w/ $4.99 shipping thru a 3rd party.

I also had fun ordering a nice pink case for my Fire. I am really loving this. Once I registered the kindle, I got prime free for 30 days.

I have been doing that when I can. A few of the apps won't turn. Any advice on the brightness? I wish I could turn it down even more for reading in the dark.

If you tap the bottom of the screen it will bring up the "Aa"'s. If you press on that it will bring up diff fonts and backround colors..black, beige and white bacrounds. You can also tap the top and then hit "more" in which case it will bring up a scroll menu....brightness will be listed.

I picked up a Rocketfish stylus during Best Buy's BF sale. It was only $4.99 and has a soft felt tip. I don't think the DS stylus will work well.
