I'm waiting for holiday tickets too - we leave next week. Maybe it's my fault for leaving it so late, but the postal system in this country is an absolute disgrace. People will probably disagree with me here, but at the end of the day the postal workers can either accept that Royal Mail is going to modernise and jobs are going to be lost (like in any industry that has huge potential for modernisation and competition), or they can continue striking, losing their pay and almost certainly resulting in a much bumpier ride.![]()
Think the strikes more about pay than anything, the average postman/woman earns around £320 a week, given the nature of what these boards are about I cannot imagine that the majority of folk who post on these boards are on an income as low as this (unless they live on nothing but beans on toast for 48 weeks of the year in order to pay for trips to Orlando).
So personally I may find it inconvenient that my post is delayed but at the same time I have got sympathy for people who have to start work extremly early in the morning, walk around in all weathers for not a lot of money
