I know some of us have been talking about the postal rate increases. These take effect May 12th.
The $0.41 to $0.42 doesnt sound all that bad does it?
The Priority Rate is a different story. Sending it non flat-rate is a maze of weights & zones. Figuring those out won't be fun. The flat rates will all change -
$4.80 is charged for matter sent in a Priority Mail flat-rate
envelope provided by the USPS, regardless of weight or
destination.
$9.80 is charged for material sent in a Priority Mail regular flat-rate
box provided by the USPS, regardless of weight or destination.
$12.95 is charged for material sent in a Priority Mail large flat-rate
box provided by the USPS, regardless of weight to domestic
addresses, and $10.95 for material sent in a Priority Mail large
flat-rate box to APO/FPO destination addresses
So our flat rate boxes are going from $8.95 to $9.80
Supposedly if you print online, there will be some a discount. Priority Mail will have an average 3.5 percent savings for customers who use electronic postage or meet other requirements.
Due to this change, I am going to have to try to keep my swapping in an envelope.
