Post your Wedding menu!

Ops - I just realized that LS stands for Living Seas.

How many people are you having at your ceremony and reception?

Linda

we have no clue on menus so this is good to see! we are hoping for ariels which we have to have a buffet, love the chip and dale one i think it is with the burgers!

That sounds somewhat like the Tinker Bell brunch with a few things taken off and added. The Tinker Bell Brunch is $45.00 per guest. Do you mind if I ask what the cost of this is per person. Also the devil eggs at your pre reception sound great (I love devil eggs) and the fruit on skewers sound like fun. What is the cost of your pre reception.

We are planning on either ADH or Ariels. Where is your reception going to be after your ceremony.

Also, what are you doing about beverages and drinks? Not sure if we want to do open bar or per drink.

Linda, I don't mind at all! I'm happy to help!! Yes, it is a modified Tinker Bell brunch. My version only raised the price to $47 per adult, half that for children aged 3-9. And that includes the pre-reception!

Essentially, they...

1. moved the fruit-and-yogurt dip from the brunch to the pre-reception and changed it to skewers

2. Substituted the smoked salmon display with the deviled eggs

3. moved the croissants from the brunch to the pre-reception

4. replaced the seared chicken breast, penne pasta, and corresponding sides with the carving station. Since there are two meats there instead of just the one, the substitution resulted in a $2 increase

5. replaced crepes with waffles and devonshire cream with regular whipped cream. (I'm a plain taste type of girl.)

During the brunch, assorted juices, coffees, and teas are included in the price.

During the cocktail hour, juices are $3.75 each. I'm not sure on the coffee/tea prices, but coffee/kahlua and coffee/baileys are each $7.75. We're having an open bar throughout but no champagne toast (since I'm not a fan of champagne, we can just toast with whatever everybody happens to be drinking.) Since it's a morning wedding, our WP suggested that bill-on-consumption would likely be more cost effective. 9:45am is pretty early to start drinking heavily! Here are some of the other drink prices. (These don't include the 6.5% tax and 20% service charge that will be added.)

bloody marys - $6.95
mimosas - $7.95
bellinis - $9
domestic beer - $5
imported beer - $5.50
soft drinks - $3.75
bottled water - $4
call brand cocktails - $6
house wine - $6.25

Our reception is at the Living Seas. I'm happy to try to answer any more questions, if you think of something else. Good luck with your planning!

No problem! We don't have our final count yet, but it's likely to be about 85 adults and 10 children aged 3-9. Since we're not having any dancing, they'll be able to add an extra table or two in the space that's normally used for the dance floor, to accommodate the extra guests. (Capacity with existing tables is 84.)

Thanks for your quick reply. Great idea moving your fruit from your reception to your pre reception. I was thinking of getting a veggie tray and a cheese tray for the Pre - but maybe I don't have to do that.

I love the idea of the waffles instead of the crepes (I'll have to to think about that one).

I would probably keep the salmon and bagels as my boyfriend is Jewish and I think his family would appreciate this.

I was thinking of adding the Antipasto Platter to the reception as this sounds great and most of my family are Italian I think they would appreciate it. $300for a medium size that serves 50. If I did that I definately would not do the Cheese Tray at the Pre and would take the croissants from the Reception to the Pre.

We also might be interested in adding a meat as the brunch will go until 3:00 and I do not want to serve just breakfast food.

Still not sure about the drinks - that is my biggest question. Billing on consumption might be the way to go. I hate making everyone travel from NY and NJ and not give them drinks.

Thanks for all your help and I might be contacting you for more.

I'm from NJ myself and most of my family will be coming from there. We're not Jewish, but one of my friends (who is Jewish) was shocked to hear we're having a brunch without lox. So, I agree, you gotta keep this!!

And with Italian family, you should definitely go for the Antipasto Platter. It's just something that's expected at an occasion, I think. (I dated an Italian guy for 4 years, and came to expect antipasto at parties.)

I think bill-on-consumption would work out fine. Either that or maybe just a beer-and-wine BOC offering, if you're trying to reduce costs. I think even if you had just mimosas as a drink option, most people would be happy. When I think about bloody marys and screwdrivers, I think tailgating party, not elegant brunch. And the coffee drinks are nice but certainly not expected.

We are getting married at 9:00 AM in AAR with a brunch at ADH. Here's our menu so far (still tweaking here and there):

Pre-reception:
Non-Alcholic Punch
Champagne Punch
Fresh fruit with yogurt dip
Smoked duck with spicy slaw served in a wonton

Reception Buffet:
Field Greens with mangos, red onions, and crisp noodles with sesame ginger dressing
Mediterranean Grilled Mahi Mahi topped with sun-dried tomatoes, black olives, and caramelized onions
Seared Chicken breast with granny smith apples, roasted figs, and fig jus
Spinach and lemon risotto
Asparagus with julienne red peppers and button mushrooms
Crepes suzette action station
Assorted dinner rolls and croissants and butter

Coffee, Decaf coffee, hot teas, iced tea

The total price is $47 per person. We'll do a bill on consumption bar during the reception. Overall we were extremely impressed at the tasting with the chicken, it was so much better than we thought it would be and it fits perfectly in a brunch/lunch menu.

As for the cake, we'll have one layer of chocolate cake with rasberry mousse and fresh rasberries (can you tell I like rasberries? :lmao: ), one with marble cake and dark chocolate mousse, and one yellow cake with strawberry mousse.

Thanks for all responses.

I agree with the Lox and Antipasta for our brunch.

To jhk1206 - punches are a great idea. Do you mind me asking how they will be serving this and the cost? Will it be a large punch bowl and everyone will help themselves?

Glad to also hear you were able to do a tasting. I was concerned that doing a brunch we would not offer this to us. I am looking forward to that - especially tasting the cake.

Linda

I loved our wedding luncheon menu:

prereception...cheese, bread, fruit and veggie display, mini veggie empanadas, and mini goat cheese pizzas, served with ice cold lemonade, and beer and wine.

Buffet lunch...vegetarian chili, fancy mac and cheese with penne pasta, and a white cheese sauce, yummy spring salad with pecans and raspberry vinaigrette, zuccini and tomato tarts with feta cheese, and sweet cornbread muffins! It was yummy! ...and if my dress wasn't sinched so tight, I would have finished eating my plate! :rotfl:

Dessert...was a table full of cookies, cupcakes, rice crispy treats, cookie bars, a groom's cake that was an apple pie, and a table display of glasses next to pitchers of milk on ice. One of my favorite wedding pictures is of me pouring my new husband a glass of milk to go with his apple pie!

I was quoted the following:

- $50 per bottle for non-alchoholic punch
- $70 per bottle for champagne punch

I think each "bottle" is a gallon. I was told I would need 2 of each for 45 people though I would guess we'd have quite a bit left over. As far as how it is served, if you have the alchoholic version, a bartender will need to serve it since they have to check ID. If it's non-alchoholic I'm not sure....

Thanks so much for the pricing for the punch. This is the first time I have heard that punch is being offered. I think that would be a great alternative for a brunch reception and the price seems more reasonable.

Love your menu - I have seen this graphic before but only in blue - our colors are red so I am glad you put all the different colors in. I will have to try to incorporate this into our wedding somehow.
