Hi All!

Seeing Caroline's beautiful Save the Dates has got me thinking I need to get serious about my invitations!! I think there was a thread way back when for this, but obviously it did not achieve "sticky" status so I figured I'd start one again to try and get some ideas!!

So, anyone who'd like to share their STDs (giggle) and/or invites, whether they are home-made or professional, please do!!

I can wait to see what all you creative thinkers have come up with!!

I did do a save the date magnet. It came out a little clearer and less "orangey" in real life:

I used cafepress.com to print them (super cheap, but some caveats: had to have them roerun do to horrible quality first time around! and fancy fonts turned out to "pixelated"...not sure if that's a word :rotfl: ...so the lettering is a bit plain). But, I only needed 9 so all in all I was happy with the way they turned out!

I love the mouse ears at the bottom. I've been thinking about "Save the Dates" for our occasion. I want to give everyone enough time to save up to join us in May 2008! I'm going to hang out and see what great creative things get posted. :cool1:

Here are my save the dates:

They were mounted on the same paper as the invites - a dark blue shimmer card stock.

I made the save the dates on my inkjet at home. Kinko's and my best friend helped with the invites. They are going in 5 x 7 ivory envelopments (same color as the invite) that will be sealed with a wax seal (as the inner envelope of sorts).

My bestfriend/MOH and I came up with these after looking at bunch of invites and stores and stuff for ideas. While I love the fact that I made them, I don't think my original objective of keeping costs down came true ... and I DEFINITELY know it's a lot more stressful than I thought it would be!

Thank you for the idea of this thread. I am currently looking for cute save the dates. So, everyone please share :goodvibes

how did you get the images to appear in the text - I can't get mine to work ...

Ryan, those are awesome! That is such a creative save the date!

I'm leaning towards using Envelopements, myself. My dad's girlfriends daughter sells them and turned me onto the website so I've been playing around with several ideas!
I really like the pocket-folds...although the original envelopements are pretty nice too. Decisions, decisions!

As far as getting the pics to post, I had to upload them to a free site (I used postthatpic.com) and then just hit the insert image button to enter the site address they gave me. Does that make sense? :confused3

I liked the pocket fold ideas too but there was a reason (which escapes me right now) why I went with the regular envelopment.

I posted mine on Yahoo and I haven't found anything about linking or posting a link :-( Maybe that's 'cause I'm using Yahoo?

I absolutely loved my invitations. We got them from Costco and they are breathtaking. They aren't "cards" like traditional invites, they are more lacey/doilie looking:

Oh, and we got the disney "love" stamps (couples: cinderella/prince charming, lady/tramp, belle/beast, mickey/minnie) too!

twojo21 I love your save the date letter. We've been trying to think of a way to word one without making it seem too wordy or like a formal invite. It's really nice. Hope you don't mind if I use yours for inspiration :goodvibes

not all, thanks for the compliment. :goodvibes when & where are you planning your big day?

We're planning on getting married in May 2008 at epcot. We haven't decided which country yet but want our reception at the Living Seas. We arranged for our site visit today! :woohoo: We're going in December to take a look around.

I'm loving all of these!!!

twojo21 - did I read your save the date right? Did you (or are you, I didn't notice your wedding date!) pay for all your guests to stay at the All Star?? What awesome and generous friends you two must be!!

martymoose yes we & our parents paid for our guests accomodations & our family and friends did appreciate it. :goodvibes

namsupak sounds nice, we looked at the living seas also but decided on ariels for our water themed reception. best of luck with your plans.

Here's my save the date. I kindly stole KT27's theme of flip-flops :) My mom made them, and I am so happy she did, b/c I love it! Especially the hidden mickey! This is not the best picture though, I do not know why it turned out so blurry. I know it looks like the "s" is missing, but it's there under the ribbon. They look much better in person.

Here is mine. the color is off in this pic. b/c they are magnets and I scanned it and it came out funny, but you get the idea!

sajetto - Where did you get the magnet from? They are awesome!

Hey sarah! I got them from a guy who actually does this for a living on ebay. His name is Bryan and his just a super sweet and helpful as he can be and has become a friend along the way. If you would like to order some from him send me a PM and I'll give you his information so that you can email him for an order. (I'm not sure if he has any ebay auctions right now)

The magnets that he made for me came out crystal clear when printed, but they look very fuzzy on the computer :confused3
