For NYbound and all others, Are crayons offered at the restaurants by the hostess or are you bringing your own? A silly question I know, but I am bringing my 2 DDs age 2 and 8 and we like color to pass the time at our local restaurants. Should I be planning on packing some or will they be there?

yes they do have crayons at all the ones I've been to, however, I've had some situations where they ran out of them. I would bring some just in case. The party stores usually have a pack of 3/4 crayons like those at the restaurants. That would make it easy to carry.

Hi  This was always a favorite activity for my family too. 3 girls, mom's a teacher. Just wanted to share one activity that we always did that I still do to this day (I'm 27.) My mom would draw a random squiggle and then we would look at it and see what we thought it looked like, and then color and add to it to make it really look like what we thought the squiggle represented. Does that make sense? It really gave us all such a sense of and appreciation for art, and I think it's one of the reasons that I am so creative and can think outside of the box as an adult.

nybound...thanks for the info about the cheese plate...it sounds yummy! And those shots of the desserts from California Grill..WOW!

Here are some from our trip last Christmas. Hopefully they look as appetising as they taste ;)

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!

I've been looking for one of these for weeks!! Well, I've been looking for the picture - but of course one of the drinks wouldn't be too bad right about now either! My friends didn't believe me when I told them about it!! I don't know why they think I would be pulling their leg! :rolleyes1

Cheers!

The hard part is getting everyone to let you take pics of the food before they dig in. My 4 y/o nephew became the food picture police... he would yell at anyone who reached for a spoon or folk before I was able to snap a picture! :rotfl:

That is to cute. ;) My DBF knows not to eat a bite until I take pics, and I take food pics at every restaurant we eat at, every single time we go out to eat. And that includes the chains like Olive Garden and Applebee's.

I can't believe I missed the LOTW reference!! Must be the food porn distracting me. :earboy2:

Like I replied on the Monorail Drink-A-Thon thread :

"To me, if you're proud to say you enjoy an adult drink at WDW - you're a LOTW. A lot of people hide it because WDW is such a 'family' place to be."

Cheers!

Here are pictures from CRT breakfast.

Oh my goodness, I just looked at this whole thread and my scrolling the pages hand is killing me! thanks to everyone who posted pics. I plan on doing the same when i get there:)

I have to say...I am really enjoying the longs lists of food with the lovely exotic names, followed by photos of "chicken fingers and fries....grilled cheese sandwich...plain pasta with sauce on the side." Gotta love our culinary kids!!

I have a few photos I wanted to post, but I can't get them small enough yet. They are shots from our last May trip. DS (3 1/2) discovered how much he loved to take photos and I forgot. So when I was going through the developed digital pictures, I saw a half eaten cheeseburger and plate of fries from Beaches and Cream, a couple munched ears of corn from WCC, and a half eaten skillet from WCC...all from the height perspective of a 40 inch little boy.

DH and I laughed out loud when we saw them - DH said, "those need to go on the Food Porn thread!" We didn't know about this thread (discovered it this summer) when we were there and it just cracks me up that DS already loves to take photos of food.

He'll be all set on our next trip! :teeth:

Which is better for a non-adventurous diner? Liberty Tree character dinner, or pre-plated stuff at Cinderella's Castle? We should mention this is for NSSHP night.

We haven't dined at Cindy's, but we have at LTT. If you like Thanksgiving food, you willl LOVE LTT!!!!!! My mom is proably one of the most non-adventurers when it comes to food, and this was her favorite restaurant (well, it's the whole family's favorite)! And we plan on returning any time we go back to MK.

We also ate at 4-5 other character meals, and this the best as far as character interaction.

Highly reccomended by us!!!

I can't remmber the exact page, but if you scroll back to around the end of June dates...there should be some instructions using glowfoto.com posted by Nora94...think that is the screen name. Her directions were simple...I could post on my first try. Hope this helps a bit.

the easiest way to post pictures is using http://www.glowfoto.com/userlogin.php
register, it's free, and then when you are logged in go to "upload images" - it's blue words under your log in name about center of the screen. It will bring you to an upload screen. browse just like you do to post pics in an email. Pick the size as HUGE, pick No for random views. When you are all done (you can do up to 10 images at a time) than press upload images.
After you have uploaded them, go to "view collection" or it may be "view Gallery" depending on the screen. It will now show your pictures. Under each one is a drop down menu - pick "get code", then it will bring you to a new screen that says, "generate html and bbcodes". click on that.
You need the BBCode for the DIS board, (other boards may use the html), hit "highlight text", press Ctrl C, than go to the message you want to put it into and press ctrl V. This will cut and paste the code into message.
To get another pic's code go "view gallery" again and do it again.
Always preview a picture thread before you post it just to make sure you did it right.
Don't erase the pics from Glowfoto until you are sure that thread won't be viewed again.

OT: but what is LOTW???? I have been pregnant the last two trips to WDW and don't mind saying I will be indulging in some adult beverage this go around... and have to know.... what is LOTW. (I could come home with some pics of drinks! That's a great idea for another culinary p*rn thread!

LOTW is Lush of the World. There are a lot of great drink recommendations and Disney bar tours on that thread. There are also drink reports and pictures of drinks.

Dinner at the Castle is non-character off a menu. I think you might have trouble getting a dinner early enough at LTT for a MNSSHP night if you don't want to miss the party. We are eating at CP on our MNSSHP night-lots of great food choices.

I just relaized that I never added my food pics to this thread. I have tons of pics!
