I am actually giggling at the conversation in here about the tongs, because we even made a comment to each other about the unfortunate location of the tongs when he handed them to me. Hee!!!

Wish I could find the guy again and tell him about the aftermath!!
The bread pudding had two pots with it - a pot of super thick "Crème Anglaise" (English Cream - thick, kind of custardy) and the dark "caramel" sauce. It was actually more of a buttery caramel than anything I've ever had - pretty runny, but it absorbed into the bread soooo well!!! I almost drank the sauce on its own - it was *that* good!!!
As for comparison to Ohana... Hmmm... I would rank them both about equally, in spite of their very different flavours (and I LOVE Ohana's bread pudding - I'm kicking myself for my resolution this trip NOT to repeat any meals except for Boma for dinner

) However, if you love ice cream, then Ohana's
may get the edge.
