DW's omelet from Kona Cafe (I had the Tonga Toast, which we've seen a hundred times before...)

And, hands down, the best dessert we had all week (and I don't see it on the menu anymore :sad2: )--The flourless chocolate cake with peanut butter ice cream from Jiko.

Here's a couple of entrees from Kona Cafe.

DW's Coconut Almond Chicken (the second best thing either DW or I had to eat all week).

And my Chargrilled Filet Medallions.

The Coconut Almond Chicken looks great. Was the sauce on it a little spicy? It looks like it may have a little bit of heat behind it :confused3 But that would only make it better for us.

Oh WOW! This thread is crazy! :cheer2:

I want everything that's on this thread. Including the croc shoes!

I'm from Australia, and coming to Disney in September. We're spending 6 weeks travelling around the US (San Fran, LA, San Diego, Las Vegas, Disney, Savannah, Washington, New York), and now I wonder... is the food everywhere going to be like this Disney food!?

Because if so, I'm going to come home to Australia double my size!!

Skip Savannah and come see Charleston, SC instead! ;)

Actually, I don't recall that it was. I remember it being on the sweet side (not sickeningly sweet, though), maybe a hint of orange? As I said, it was surprisingly good. DW and I ate here, last minute, for a late supper immediately following our Wishes! cruise. We had ADRs for Whispering Canyon earlier in the afternoon, but we (well, I) was too danged lazy after a day at the parks to raise myself out of bed and make the walk down to the AKL bus stop, get on the bus to MK, and transfer to the boat to WL at MK. So we cancelled our ADR at WC and made a very late ADR at Kona (we were boarding the Wishes! pontoon boat at the Poly) . We'd eaten at Kona for breakfast on our previous trip back in '02 (and would breakfast there again later in the week), but we really had no interest in eating dinner there. The menu, on paper, just didn't look all that interesting. Boy, were we WRONG! This has now become a staple for both breakfast and dinner.

Incidentally, I see you're going to be staying at good ol' AKL in a couple months. Are you going to be in a savannah room? Actually, I'm positive you'll enjoy it, no matter where you'll be staying. :thumbsup2 We stayed there just this last August, and fell absolutely in love (and it didn't hurt that it was our first time on property). We're going back in October of next year, and we're torn--torn!--amongst several choices (AKL, Poly, WL, CR, and YC/BC... I know, isn't it nice to have that choice to make? :) ). Much as I'd love to try something new, I think our trip might just be missing a little something if we're not "home" at the AKL.

Have an AWESOME trip! :sunny:

We only booked a standard room at AKL, I'm easing DH into deluxe and don't want to scare him w/ the bill. However, I'm hoping for alot of pixiedust: for an upgrade ;) I'm really excited about staying at AKL for the first time.
