I have booked our trip next summer with SWV. I appreciated not having to be on hold with central reservations and having someone else do all the foot work, but it is hard for me to give up the "control" over my vacation. We are doing a split stay and have received the info packet in the mail for our first resort, but still waiting for the second. I do have the confirmation numbers and emails for both.

I am just wondering if anyone ever had any problems with your check in or reservations once you arrived at your resort.

Only one time did I encounter a problem booking with a TA. And in hindsight, it was my fault since I figured she knew what she was talking about. My mom, dd, any myself went on my and dd's first trip to WDW in '99. I knew no better and booked using a 'regular' TA...not a Disney specific one. My dd was turning 6 while we were there and I really wanted to have her birthday breakfast at CRT. No problem the TA told me. Now, we booked this trip in early spring and were going in late Oct. So, she had plenty of time. Well, comes early Sept and the TA calls me. She was so apologetic but she just couldn't get us CRT reservations!!! I figured she knew she has to call at the 60 day mark but evidently she didn't. So, she missed it by about a week!! We ate lunch at the Castle for her birthday and then had birthday dinner at Crystal Palace but it was disappointing to say the least. That's the nice thing about using a Disney specialist!!!! Or do it yourself...that way no one to blame but me!!!

I had a similar situation with my travel agent, but it wasn't the agent's fault. Disney has a huge issue with Room Only confirmations being mailed out. As a result, it took 2 months to get my confirmations. Don't blame your agent. Your beef should be with Disney. My agent was as frustrated as I was. I am sure yours was, too, as it makes them look bad, even if it isn't something they can control.

I just received the second confirmation in the mail a few minutes ago. I did notice the date it was printed at Disney was 9/9. So I agree, that was definately not her fault. I am glad to hear that someone else had delayed confirmations.

We are using a AAA TA and frankly I have not found it to be worth the money we spent. I'm already a member and did not realize until we had started the process that they charge an extra $25. Honestly once I found these boards and Mousesavers etc there is nothing that she could do for me that I could not do myself faster. The other thing I have learned is get a Disney specialist. Ours knows nothing Disney and therefore I feel like I'm teaching her.

I have been so lucky! I have a Disney Specialist TA who ROCKS!

Sorry you had bad luck....guess I lucked up on finding one on the first board I located....have been using her ever since!
