? I'm confused....

I thought you got free dining for all the dates within your stay as long as some of your stay is in the free dining time. For example, I don't even arrive until Sept 22, the last day of the free dining, but we are booked for the entire length of our stay with free dining. Isn't that how it works?

It is based on availbility. Disney only set aside a certain amount of rooms desginated "free dining"

Your vacation has to START within the dates to qualify. So vacations starting before the 26th will not qualify ...unless 2 seperate ressies are made..one starting the 26th and the other before that.
In your case your vacation does start within the free dining period so you get FD for your whole stay.
