Post your Disney Jar pic here, please

Just an FYI about the Popcorn Buckets... when I was in WDW over Labor Day the Disney outlet at Premium Outlets had buckets for $1! They had a Christmas one and a Tower of Terror "Celebrate Thrills" one. DD brought back the ToT one to her Pop-pop so he could save his change for Disney-lol!

Oh, and we also use a Popcorn Bucket, I have the Celebrate Volunteering one from back in February.

My house was broken into 3 weeks ago. Only two things were stolen, my TV and my half full 5 gallon water bottle with Disney savings. I was more sad about the change jar! :sad1:

Man, that's terrible! Our change "jar" is an old laundry detergent jug. Cut a slot in the top. I just leave it in the laundry room & hopefully if anyone breaks in, they'll just think it's a bottle of Tide. And it has a nice handle to carry it in to the bank when it's time to cash it in. Though I did get a few crazy looks the first time or two I carried it in to the bank.

We use an empty antique fire extinguisher. We planning to dump it out and count it up on Super Bowl Sunday to see where we're at. Super Bowl Sunday seemed like a good target date, cause 1. we'll all be sitting around watching the pregame and 2. it's better to have my hands full of change then chips & dip. ;)

Since we're aaallllmmost ready to book a trip for Nov. 2011 we have extra incentive to dump in change and bills. Since I don't use a lot of cash I've started rounding up my debit card purchases on a spread sheet (say purchase was $12.25 then $0.75 goes into the "change" column) and when the "change column" equals $20 I make a trip to the ATM and put a $20 into the extinguisher.

Can't wait to add it up and see where we're at.

DH had his 5 gallon water bottle that was completely full of change stolen one time (long before we met). He still isn't over it!

Me too! My son has been off formula for 4 months but the canister is the perfect size. I am going to decorate it though. :)
I should decorate mine. I feel like a slacker now!

We use a Mason Jar that sits in our kitchen, every time it gets full I load a Disney Gift Card with the amount, that way we don't spend the money on anything else...we just started in July and already have $100 in Disney Gift Cards!!!!! :goodvibes
That's a good idea!

That is the first thing she tells everyone about our disney fund...that it smells like pickles.
Our kids laugh that the money smells like pickles too!
Hilarious!

Hmmm that is a good idea too. I do keep mine on the dryer so it would match the room. Bet it would smell good too!

Ours is a regular old plastic container decorated with Mickey stickers with a sign that says "Taking Kallyn to Visit Mickey Mouse for the 1st Time Winter 2011!!!" not too crafty and def. not picture worthy! :rotfl: However, I'm loving the gift card idea!

as you can see mine is not too crafty either. lol. i just wanted something simple as i am handicapped and can't get in to anything too fancy.

we scored big on the adding coins to the cup today, a whopping 13 cents came out of my husband's pocket after work. lol.

since we really do not deal in cash a lot, we prob. won't end up with a lot of change but i thought anything is better than nothing.

How fun!

Mine's seen better days... and really needs some attention as far as being "fed"... it's just a hat box I decorated with glitter and scrapbook stickers:)

Sorry for the photo quality. Just snapped some pics real quick with my phone.

OK, this is my favorite. . . so far.

I have a thing for hat boxes but then never can figure out what to do with them. This could be my next craft project.

By looking at some of these I think I have to up my game! LOL

I actually take this on vacation with me, filled with change and bills call it the "Cha Ching Can". Good for tolls, drinks, etc...

Same can for 5 trips. :) I have to decorate it I guess.....

That was fun! I've just used a plain old Yankee Candle jar. I'm going to go decorate it with Disney stickers now. Why didn't I think of that! It certainly makes it more fun.

Mine is just a cut-glass candy jar which we never used for candy. Since it is on the small side, I roll change when it gets full.

Hmm...that reminds me that I really need to cash in all that rolled change.

Oh now that's just way over the top. Someone needs 20 to life for that serious of a crime.

Thanks! Mine's a sloppy job but go to Micheal's and they have the best scrapbook stickers that are so fitting for this. I just put paper over the top of the box and put stickers and used a glitter pen.. I cut a slot in top for the money.

Sadly I keep forgetting to put money in it LOL! That will change now;)

Please post yours when you're done!

I love everybody's so far!!

You all have inspired me. We have been using Tootsie Roll banks but that is changing this weekend. I have a smaller Deer Park water jug (about 1/2 gallon) that will be decorated for vacation next summer. And I love the gift card idea. Disney here we come. :woohoo:

Right now we are just using the popcorn buckets from disney (we have several) and when it is full we either sit it in the bottom of the closet and start a new one or we go cash it in and get disney gift cards in that amount. It really just depends on how busy we are when the jar gets full. I also put dollar bills in the jar. I like using the popcorn buckets because they are not clear and we kind of forget that we have actual bills in there and we are not tempted to use the change for other stuff.
