I just returned from my PS and I'm waiting on the BEO to find out what our DP choices will price out to, but I was wondering what everyone else chose to have at their DP (ice cream seems popular, but our date is January and ice cream may not be a great choice then).

Also, our planner recommended to choose 6 items. I was wondering what is a good amount of treats to offer? I'm expecting to have around 40 ppl.

We are having about 65 people and we are having churros, creme brulee action station, mickey mouse rice krispie treats, zebra domes, chocolate espresso cups, and a fresh fruit salad and it is $42 a person.

We're having the bananas foster action station, Brown Derby Grapefuit cake, Key Lime Pie tarts, chocolate covered strawberries, mini chocolate mousses, mini tiramisu, and Sunshine Food Fair strawberry shortcake for $39 pp (estimation of roughly 50 people). We're also toying with the idea of having individually wrapped Mickey shaped Rice Crisped Treats ($3.95 each) or Carmel apples ($7 each) put out once the other food has been removed. Good luck with planning your menu--Disney makes so many amazing desserts; I found it hard to choose!

The cool thing about the Mickey ice cream bars was they also gave us everything else that was in the ice cream cart. Like the fruit bars and Mickey Ice cream sandwich. Not sure if they do that all the time or what but it was a very nice surprise. Here are some pics.

We're doing assorted ice cream novelities (because I want Mickey bars), Chocolate Fudge Brownies, assorted cookies, and fresh fruit salad. We're having approx 30 people and its $25 per person. My planner just asked me what I was thinking and I said the mickey pops, some sort of cookies, and fruit salad (for those who want to be a little more healthy - usually me, but I'll be stuffing my face with mickey pops 12 hours before my wedding...)

We're also having a full bar BOC. Not my idea, DF insisted we have a bar because a normal rehersal party would have a bar. I also insisted that his family would also pay for a normal rehersal dinner (we're paying for the entire event - dessert party and wedding) but lost that fight!

Sheila - I'm hungry now, that all looks really good and congrats on scoring what was in the ice cream cart!!

KK - The same is happening to me, I don't feel the need to offer liquor for 1 hour, but DH is insisting on it. I too lost the fight, but I'm waiting for the BEO to come in and maybe he'll change his tune. Besides, who wants to eat a brownie if they're drinking a beer? I wouldn't want to mix the two, and I don't see our crowd eating sweets if they're drinking.

I think if we stay with a bar, I will cut down on the number of desserts being offered because I've read that there are a ton of left-overs. I don't need a ton - because I love sweets and I'll just eat it, and it's the last thing I need the day before the wedding!!

We had a wonderful DP at French Lower Terrace!!

We did a custom menu-$23/per person

Tie dyed cupcakes

Triple chocolate trifle
Marshmallow squares ***
Coffee, tea, fruit punch, ec..,

The marshmallow squares were AMAZING!!! They are not rice krispie treats-they are these gooey squares with marshmallow, peanut butter, butterscotch, I think mini m&ms??, and other stuff-delicious!! I wish they sold these in the parks!!!

We have not completed the final desicions, but what we have limited our choices, and are choosing from the following. Right now we are

Tie dye cupcakes/cheesecakes
kiwi/berry fruit tarts
Chocolate dipped pretzels
Peanut Butter marshmallow chocolate bars
Mickey Mouse Krispie treat bars
Popcorn- not sure if we are doing regular popcorn, or the Confetti Popcorn sold on Main Street. The regular popcorn is BOC, Confetti would add a per person price of 6 dollars cause they would have to make a special patch.:sad2

I have also contempted doing caramel apples BOC, and having them wrapped individually so the guests could grab them as they leave. Also doing the same with the Mickey Mouse krispie treat bars.

We asked for them to skip the coffee and tea, and subsitute the POG juice from the Poly!!!

We are also doing a bar, but not full bar. We are selecting 4 or 5 signature drinks from EPCOT, and will be having those available (BOC).

I don't mean to threadjack, but I'm considering doing a BOC bar at my dessert party. How do they work the Grey Goose slushies? Do they bring over a machine or just have someone running over to get them?

Love seeing all of these menus, definitely giving me some new ideas!

When I inquired about the Orange Slushes, I was told that you can do one of two ways. You can have them bring in the whole machine with the drinks premade up and you pay for the whole batch of drinks in machine. Or if you want to do BOC, they still bring the machine in with only the orange mixer premade in it, and add the Grand Marnier to each drink as it is sold. This way you don't buy whole batch.... I'm not exactly sure what the difference is, but my planner explained that it would save us money doing it this way, since we can't take what's left over with us. And if we wanted to serve more then one slushy type drink, that this was the way to go.
