I feel so uneducated. I have an AAS in nursing and have been a RN for 19 yrs

you feel uneducated....I never got a degree in anything :guilty:

I started out going for accounting, dropped out.
Went back some years later to go for radiography, dropped out

I do however, have a high school diploma :thumbsup2

I have a B.Music in Vocal Pedagogy (started as vocal performance and switched to vocal ped because it seemed more "marketable").
I did some grad work in a Masters of Education-Professional Development degree program emphasizing early childhood education. I wanted to write early childhood music curriculum that would be accessible to non-music preschool teachers, but the program emphasized getting elementary and ECE teaching certification over the professional development aspects and I was getting further and further into debt, so I quit.

DH has a B.S. in Physics with a minor in mechanical engineering, a M.A. in English, ESL certification, and an assortment of computer/techie certificates. I don't remember what all they are, but he tries to pick up a new one at least once a year. He likes taking classes! He taught English Lit at a community college for a while, and now is a network analyst in the IT department at a Silicon Valley tech company.

It's so interesting to read about everyone. I have my paralegal certificate and a ton of college credit, but not my Bachelors degree. Ironic this thread came up. I've been seriously thinking about going back to school this fall when the kids get back in school. Not sure what I want to be when I grow up still! I am leaning toward either Psychology or Sociology.

You have nothing to feel bad about. A degree is just that. It is what you do with your life that counts!

For instance, I have a degree in Education with a minor in English. I only taught a few months. I went to work for a software company where I taught myself programming. I never took in any IT courses, yet I became a Systems Analyst and then a Systems Manager. I worked for that company for thirty years.

Never stop learning, but don't worry if it doesn't net you a degree. Use what you have and be open to the possibilities!

allie&mattsmom -- If you're ready, go back to school. My mom hadn't finished her bachelor's degree before they started having a family. When I (the youngest one of two) was a teenager, she was ready to go back and get her BFA and after that started teaching art in local community college.

As for me, a BA in linguistics (after the ten-year plan of going to school part-time, changing major after major, liking the student lifestyle (paid for it all myself) and then hit my mid-20s and said "Boy, it's time to move on.") Since there's such a high demand for linguists (NOT) I went on to get a Masters of Librarianship (you can tell how long ago I got my degree because it's actually an M.Libr. before the study of libraries became a "science") :)

BS in social science

MBA

Both from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.

this is a great thread, to be honest, the best jobs i had was being a temp-yes loved it,
i would have liked to be a nurse, the money is good but cannot do the blood thing

and a degree with the CSI stuff sounded really good to,

Ahhh...I WISH my minor was Vocal Pedagogy instead of Vocal Performance!! I've actually thought about going back to take some pedagogy classes. I LOVE teaching voice so much, and am thinking of taking on students again when my dd starts "regular" school. I think I would be a better voice teacher with pedagogy under my belt.

It is interesting to see SOO many ministers on this board!! My dh's mom is a Methodist minister, and his dad is a Presbyterian minister (he used to be a Methodist minister...LONG story).

I had the option to get my MDiv at Candler. One of the hardest decisions I made was to go to a different school (and I'll never know, definitively, where the right school was). I have many, many friends that went to Candler.

BA in Race and Gender studies from a small school in NC.
working on an MDiv/ordination (in IL).

BA, JD/MBA. Memberships in Phi Beta Kappa and Mensa. Certified PADI scuba instructor.

I have a "licentie handelswetenschappen", which is a masters in commercial sciences.
I am thinking about "upgrading" that one to commercial engineer, it can be done with one or two years of classes in the evening. Just don't know if I'm good enough in maths for that.

I also have an MBA from Vlerick.

BS in Telecommunications aka Television Production. I worked in television news then switched fields to finance after relocating my fiance . I now do inbound sales from home.
