ok, so I know I am a day early but my town had their halloween costume contest tonight.

Well, we haven't had our Halloween festivities yet.

My little guys, all dressed up last night. DD was sick on Friday when they had the school party, and apparently the middle schoolers are too cool to dress up for school...

I was told it wasn't cool to take pictures on Halloween anymore so I don't have any. Most of our planned costumes went by the wayside because it was so cold last night. DD11 ended up wearing her PJ's and bathrobe over her long underwear and winter coat. DS11 was going to be a hippie but his costume wouldn't fit over his winter coat so he wore his hippie wig and a wild Hawaiian shirt over his winter coat. DS14 managed to get his costume over his layers of clothing, he wore a black cape and a light up skeleton mask.

It was really cold here too!!! The kids had on layers, and hat, gloves, etc. Next year for Halloween we will be living in Vegas and I told the kids they would actually be able to show off their costumes!

They all had fun though as I'm sure yours did as well.

Those were great, especially the little Miss Behave. Very clever.

We saw a kid who had a lab coat on, and had those candies that are called Smarties taped all over his pants.
I didn't get it, but DH finally realized he was a "smarty pants"!! LOL

DS's best friend went as Super Mario, so the two of them were kind of a videogame 2 pack.

I always plan two versions of my kids costumes, one for warm weather and one for cold. DD actually has on a long sleeve shirt and pink sweatpants for extra warmth under her dress. I couldn't talk DS into putting on a long sleeve thermal shirt under his double layer of shirts, though. He came home cold...

I remember those. You posted a link didn't you? You were both from the Harry Potter stories right?
I thought they were great. And everyone looked like they were having a blast. Not sure what was offending about those. Sorry that happened to you. But then again, these days it doesn't seem to take much.
