I just had surgery (for colon cancer - caught it just in time, and I am home after 6 days). I only had 2 days of a "light solid" diet in the hospital before coming home yesterday - and each meal was a carb feast! LOL (or I would if it didn't hurt so much) Of course, I ate what they gave me, and am supposed to stay on "light solids" for about another week, gradually adding more solid food.
My BIG question is, how do I transition back to a full Atkins, and how soon? My doctor is also on Atkins (but I am not sure how seriously since he ate cake and ice cream this week! ), and he said to lay off the salads for a couple of weeks so the colon doen't get overwhelmed/irritated.
I have lost 60 pounds, and want to lose about 60 more, so should I go back on induction in a couple of weeks? Does anyone have experience in resuming Atkins after abdominal surgery? All suggestions will be gratefully considered!
(BTW - I must be feeling better if I am here discussing these things with you! Also, I am not weighing myself for at least a week - I hope!))
