My Dad passed away July 2000, he was the "glue" of this family and since then all his kids (I am the oldest of 7) have sort of drifted their own way, very estranged from each other...sad BUT my "baby" sister and I and 2 of her children...my nieces who I have never met. will be seeing each other for the first time in about 7 yrs ! (she couldn't make it to NY for Dad's funeral)

They are coming to NY in 7 days and we will be going to WDW for a re-union! Doesn't get much better than that !

Before 9 a.m. my 17 y.o. DS just gave me one of the nicest smiles while we were talking

The sun is shining and the forecast says it is supposed to be a beautiful weekend

It is my two youngest childrens' last day of school so from this day until September I can enjoy them as much as I want

I turn 40 tomorrow and I'm thankful for each day I have been given!

Life doesn't get any better than this.....

DS22 was accepted into UGA's MAcc program for this fall.

DH and I both have Monday off - FOUR DAY WEEKEND!!

1. It's not raining today!!!!!
2. Yesterday was DH's birthday, so we had a really nice dinner with his parents and mine, and it was fun.
3. His dad finally has a girlfriend!! (his Mom died about 6 years ago, and his dad hasn't really done anything but work really hard since then.)
4. There are fireworks this weekend. I love fireworks!
5. I'm working on the 4th of July, but because it's a holiday, will get paid overtime for it!!!

Apparently it doesn't take much to amuse me...

1. I called my female parental unit again, and she is planning to call me tomorrow - I think the angels rejoiced again.

I received and read a positive, brief note/letter from my male parental unit - I think the angels rejoiced exceedingly (after recovering from "fainting dead away").

Will wonders never cease... grace, grace, God's grace...

2. No one was hurt, and the mighty hickory missed the house. That, and it was the #2 hickory and not the #1 hickory that RIPieces - a small silver lining in my memories cloud.

Just got word back from the State Revenue Dept about my '03 & '04 amended tax returns.. Did you know they pay YOU interest if they OWE you? Cha-Ching!

My 85 year old father made me a wonderful cheese omelet for breakfast this morning - complete with bacon on the side. This afternoon he made some fantastic bread. (glad I don't have to fit into any dresses soon).

The weather is nice and sunny.

My youngest had a much better year at the Citadel this year! Grades are UP!

We are going to the beach for a week on Saturday.

Husband is starting to talk about the Disney trip he promised when I retire June 2007. This is a major positive move for him!

I turned 40 today and I feel fantastic--almost feel like I did when I was 30(but this time I'm not pregnant so I feel even better!)

I guess I will have to join in on this one. There are actually some good things going on in my life right now.

I made it to work this morning in record time and made all the stop lights! That is nothing short of a miracle!!

We are going on vacation to DC next week and then to Myrtle Beach later in the summer!! We didn't know if we were going to be able to take a vacation at all this summer--see below. We thought we might be living off of our tax refund instead of using it to pay on CC, increase our savings and go on vacation.

DH had lost his job in May, but w/ in 2 weeks had a teaching position w/ our hs alma mater teaching what he wanted. He is so relieved to be out of an office setting w/ a large company and all the c**p that goes w/ it. We know there will be a lot of c**p w/ teaching, but at least he will be doing something he enjoys and it is about 10 minutes from home.

Last, but not least..we are getting a puppy when we get back from DC!!! I will give more details on that when we get her. (Maybe I will actually learn how to post pictures!)

I am very thankful for all these good things, even the record comute this morning. It sure gives you a better perspective for the day!
