Post pics of your bag you carry into park

Okay, I received the LL Bean Touring Travel bag in large.

I like a lot of things about it, but not enough to keep it. I like that the strap has a pad/gripper type thing so it stays on your shoulder but doesn't dig in. I liked all the pockets, but didn't like how you had to lift the front flap up to get into the bag. And the main reason I am sending it back is the strap is not long enough. Even extended out to its longest length, when it was across my body, it didn't hang down low enough.

So, I ordered the same bag in small to see if that made a difference. It had the same strap length problem, plus it didn't have the soulder pad/gripper thingy. So I will return that as well.

Initially, I didn't want to order the Baggalinni because I thought it would be awkward having to take it off over my head every time I needed to get into it. But I went ahead and bought one to check it out, and it is perfect. You don't have to take it off, you can just slide it around to the side and get in the pockets. Probably it won't be so easy to get in the very front pocket that way, but I just won't put anything in there that I need to get to quickly. The zippered pocket on the strap is genius.

I wish it was just a touch bigger, but I think it will work for my purposes. I will post again with a review next month after my trip.

how long did it take to receive your VB? I ordered one direct from website on Saturday, never received an email confirmation, and since I am a "guest", not registered on their site, can't check my order on the website. The credit card charge went through on Monday.

Note to self: ALWAYS WRITE DOWN CONFIRMATION #s! I got lazy, because I always get an email one. OOPS.

I wasn't the one you were asking, but if it helps, I ordered a bag on Friday and got the shipment notice yesterday. If you didn't get an email confirmation, you probably won't get a shipment notice, but it would probably have gone out yesterday or today.

I am a Baggalini fan and just ordered a new one from Bagsbuy. With two discounts they currently are $29.98 with free shipping. My old one is kind of mustard color but the new one is turquoise.

Okay, baggalini people! What's the difference in the ripstop nylon and the crinkle nylon? (besides $12, that is!:rotfl:)

Here's a description I found on a site that sells them:

"About Baggallini
Ripstop: Baggallini's Ripstop is a backed nylon, parachute style fabric; it has a subtle, tone on tone ¼” woven grid pattern – that stops rips. Ripstop has a similar look and feel to the nylon used to make windbreaker jackets and tents. Available in 10 bright colors, black and two patterns. Durable, lightweight, easily cleaned and water resistant.

Crinkle Nylon: Backed nylon, this Baggallini fabric has a canvas look with a woven textural quality giving it a “crinkle” effect similar to the natural wrinkling of linen. Crinkle nylon, while still casual, is a more sophisticated fashion statement than ripstop nylon. Available in 13 muted, fashion colors. Durable, light weight, water resistant"

I'm starting to crave this bag ......:sad2::rotfl:

Thanks!! Anyone with the bag have an opinion on the ripstop vs the crinkle?

Anyone have the Vear Bradley "Mailbag"?? Just wondering if it will be to big??:rotfl: Maybe I should go with the "hipster"??:confused3

My current everyday bag is a VB Hipster, which is a nice size and I was going to just take it with me, but the opening is small and I thought I might be fighting things in and out of it the whole trip. So I bought the mailbag. I think it is going to be perfect. It really is not that much bigger than the hipster if you look at the dimensions on VB site. In person it looks a lot bigger but not freakishly big. The opening is large and it has the little pockets inside the main compartment (this is what I love about VB purses the most) and a nice zipped "wallet" area just under the big front flap which has credit card slots and more little pockets. The strap is adjustable and long. I picked one of the colors on sale and got it for $27 plus shipping so $34 total.
***There are two magnets on the bottom flap of the VB Mailbag. The wallet area is at the top of the bag and the magnets are at the bottom. Since tickets and magnets don't seem to like each other (and I speak from experience) I am going to stick my tickets in a leather credit card sleeve before I even put them in the purse.

I picked up the mailbag the other day, and I was a bit worried about the magnets. Thanks for the suggestion about what to do with the tickets!

I think it's going to be perfect for the trip!

oh my, this thread makes me want to go out and buy more bags! I already have more bags than shoes :rolleyes1

I took 4 different bags to Disney last year and only used one in the parks! This one suited me...lots of pokcets, could wear it in front of me where I could see it and get into it quickly for fast passes and lipscreen. I could also get my son's and daughter's cameras into it...it's like Mary Popppins' bag if you pack it well :lmao:

I'm going to use it this year too I liked it so much :yay:

Wow....lots of bags!

does the baggallini (sp?) have a place for a water bottle? If so, does it get too heavy?

I have been looking at this very helpful thread for several days now, off and on! I am trying to replace my very unfashionable fanny pack!!!!!

I need some recommendations please. Here is what I need to carry:

-camera (with small case) maybe 3 inches x 4 inches
-credit card
-cash
-id, insurance card
-maybe some other small personal items (some Tylenol and fem hygiene stuff)
-a spot for a waterbottle would be NICE, but not essestial
-Something with a soft strap that wont bother my neck!
-something water resistant would be a plus

My husband carries a backpack with all of the other important stuff for the kids, but I want to carry the camera to get it out easily and quickly for pictures.

Please make a recommendation!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks!

This is the first year I am considering bringing something other than a backpack or sling to Disney. I have always liked these types of bags for hands-free touring, but I find them very inconvenient for accessing cameras, phones, and money in a hurry. Last summer, I used the Baggallini City Bagg (a cross-body bag) at Sea World, but found the strap rubbed against my neck and was very uncomfortable. And strangely, I found it to be "too organized." I spent an awful lot of time unzipping zippers, trying to remember where I put whatever I was looking for.

I am still a Baggallini fan, and today I found the Baggallini Expandable Tote at Tuesday Morning for $20 (reg. price $50, but I would never spend that much on a nylon tote):

http://www.ebags.com/baggallini/expandable_tote_crinkle_nylon/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=47388

This bag fulfills most of my requirements: lightweight, waterproof, zipper closure, pockets for water bottles, and room for snacks, sunscreen, a camera, a couple of extra t-shirts for the kids, and any small souveniers that we may buy. It also has a separate compartment for my phone. My phone does not fit in my pocket comfortably, so I like the idea of having it in a bag worn over my shoulder so that I can hear it ringing/feel it vibrating, and quickly access it (DH and I occasionally split up with the kids since they like different attractions, so we need to stay in touch constantly). I am a little concerned, however, that carrying a tote bag over the shoulder might become uncomfortable during the course of the long days in the parks. Has anyone here used a tote-style bag (one that is worn on one shoulder)? Would you recommend or discourage it? It's not obvious in the picture, but the top of the bag collapses down if not full, so it does not have to be as large as shown (the straps are not sewn all the way up to the top of the bag).
