Hey Guys -

We leave for the World in 3 (YES, 3) days!!! I am taking my Christmas cards with me (addressed, stamped, ready to go), and I want to mail them from WDW so they get a cute postmark.

Where do they do this on property? I know I've read there is a place to do this, but I can't find the thread.

THANKS FOR THE HELP!!!

Great idea. I'd love to do that too...if I can get organized enough to get my cards written.

I think you can mail them using the old fashion mailboxes on main street

I believe you can get a special postmark by mailing them at Memories at DTD.

I don't think that you can get a "Walt Disney World" postmark anymore. The mailboxes on Main Street are no longer official US Post Office mailboxes. The closest Post Office is the one in Lake Buena Vista which is located at the Shops at Lake Buena Vista. If take Buena Vista Drive to where it intersects with 535 (past downtown disney and the lake buena vista hotels), take a left on 535 and the shops are about 1 to 2 miles on the right. I believe the post mark would be Lake Buena Vista. There is an official US Post Offfice Box at Downtown Disney near the World of Disney store.

as far as I know, the only place to get a special postmark now is the Memories store in Marketplace at DD. You can mail postcards all around the parks and resorts, but they just have a regular Orlando mark there.

While we're on the subject of sending postcards...

Why don't they have Disney postcard stamps? Either at the parks or in "real life"? Wilma Rudolph doesn't exactly embody the WDW magic!

during our 2004 vacation, we mailed postcards from CBR on day two of the eight day trip. The cards were not received until a week after we got home! That really defeated the purpose behind our "wish you were here" cards.
You might be better off taking them to an official USPS box outside of WDW.

simply give them to the CMs at the front desk in your hotel, theyll send it for you..i dunno about the stamps though, sorry to say so

Honeypots has a point. Mail that is sent out through Disney means tends to circulate on property for 3-5 days extra...It doesn't go right out like it would in a USPS drop box. If you want the postmark, check at memories, if that is not an issue use the Actual Blue Postal Drop Box at Downtown Disney or there is also one in the drive thru at Suntrust (across from World of Disney). Because these are actual USPS postal drop boxes they are picked up and sent out daily.

From the stationary shop (is that what Memories is?) in Downtown Disney our cards do get to their recipients before we get home! I always mail my postcards from there.
What a great time of year to go....have a wonderful trip!!

Yes, the shop in Downtown Disney has a Tinkerbell postmark - at least they used to as of Feb 2005. It is such a popular thing that people want as a souvenier that they will charge you less to postmark it and hand it back. I forget exactly what the deal was - maybe I didn't need a stamp and they charge a minimal amount for the postmark.
