Has anyone else been experiencing a lack of motivation and get up and go since the DisneyWorld marathon? I have been having a heck of a time getting going since. Someone pointed out to me that I might have a touch of post marathon blues.

I never thought I would have problems with the taper maddness syndrome either but I did. So maybe I have had a touch of post marathon blues.

Tomorrow it's stop making excuses and get my butt back on the road.

Walk strong.

I didn't do it this year, but last year I came down with it something chronic. I couldn't motivate myself to run at all, which considering I'd been running 5 times a week for 5 years until that point was very odd. I think I'd built it up so much that it was like 'now what' and I didn't want to do another marathon without at least a castle to run through. I do see the flying pig in your siggie though which is the best cure - another event, especially one with a nice shiny medal. I'm sure that's why Goofy is already 50% full for next year, it's everyone needing a motivating factor to get out there again.

Hello LittleGrayDonkey, thanks for replying. Whatever it is I'm putting it to an end today and getting my butt back at it. The wild Gerbil and I have a 10 miler scheduled for today.

A 10 Miler! :yay: Hope you have a great one and that it gives you the boost you need.

Hi Helen :wave2:

Thank you Diane, the temp is up to 40 degrees and it's stopped raining so I think it will be a great walk. I know it will feel good being back at it. I did a few treadmill sessions last week and that just didn't do it.

Erica did the half in 2006, we did the full together this year and we will do the Goofy next January together.

i think i've got them -- well think about it. the holidays, then a trip to WDW for marathon weekend then POWIE --- reality punches you smack in the nose. blech! it's snowy and icy here, cold, and i'm been very unmotivated this past week to eat right. i'm dragging my butt to do my workouts and let's face it, the reverse taper ones are SHORT!

i'm going to register for the Columbus 1/2 marathon in April to have something ahead too -- and good luck at the pig! i hear that's a fantastic event!

We might do the Pig half instead of the full. There is a mountian in the middle of it and I'm not sure we are ready for that. We will have to see how the training goes the next few months.

ohMom I hope you get back in your grove soon. This lack of 'get up and go' is no fun.

Our ten mile walk went well, 10 miles 2:11. That is about a 5:50 marathon pace. This was a 10 mile PR for Erica, and a darn decent pace all around.

Needed this walk to get us out of the training funk we were in. We braved the cold and wind and got it done.

Walk strong

Dave:)
