Post-Labor Day September crowds. How awesome are they??

We usually go the day after Labor Day. Crowds are not terrible, but we definitely still use FP and book ADRs. There are still waits to get on most rides, but not tremendously long waits. I also still go with a plan of where I want to be on each day. If plans change a little while we are there that is ok too. Have a great trip!

We have gone in September every year for quite a number of years now and it is a wonderful time. We've walked on tons of rides and enjoyed the lower crowds. I would definitely still take advantage of any FP opportunities but I wouldn't stress about it being crowded. Last year was ridiculously hot though and we are coming from Texas, and we still thought it was hot :-) Bring lots of water, sunscreen and enjoy your trip!!

I'll be there at the exact same time and I'm cautiously optimistic. I was just looking yesterday at some of the ADRs still available that week as well as hotels and there are quite a lot. I'm hoping that's a sign that the waits for rides won't be too bad. I booked this trip when we were there last October to purposefully be before Food and Wine started and was disappointed when they announced it was starting early due to the crowds it attracts. Oh well - I still say a day at Disney is better than the alternative. I would just advise you to go in expecting it to be busy and then be pleasantly surprised when it's not! *fingers crossed*

Here's the thing. Yes there will be less total people. However, Disney reduces staffing and ride vehicles to match. For example things like only running one Dumbo or one side of Big Thunder at times. So the wait times are not dramatically reduced like they used to be. Still a good time to go but just don't expect open pathways and walk ons like pre 2011

Planning on a trip Sept 4-8. I'm really excited about going at a low crowd time for once! What kind of wait times can we expect? Should we bother with fastpasses for anything in particular? (Besides FoP-- they were already gone at the 30 day window...)

Looking forward to an easy, breezy trip.
me too - we go 9/3 - 9/8

Around 75% of the schools across the country will be back in session and most parents will not take their kids out the first few weeks of school. Expect a slight uptick in traffic around World Showcase in Epcot thanks to Food & Wine, but those crowds don't affect the other parks. It is true it no longer is completely 'dead', but that's because Disney has scaled back operations and hours. Still very low crowds compared to the rest of the year considering crowds are up for basically all times of year now except summer.
