Post Holiday Pin Meet - White Marsh, Md.

Our Disney Store, White Marsh, Maryland, has been crazy thru this whole thing with people getting there early and waiting forever.

It has also been lots of fun. Meeting new people and seeing new faces, and seeing the same faces week after week.

I would also be one of the last ones to get there, which means I missed alot of the pins, but that is okay because it was my choice to arrive late.

I would say today we had about 50 people in line and I was able to get all but one pin. We were only allowed two state pins, and am hoping they get in alot more. I would love to trade these to get some of the other states.

I do have to say the Maryland pin is outstanding. I never realized until today, that the Maryland State Colors are also Mickey colors, red, yellow, black and white. Maybe that is why it looks so good.

All in all, this has been a great experience. I made alot of new friends and got alot of nice pins. Here is hoping Disney realizes that Pin Trading and Pin buying is alive and well and here is hoping they will continue to carry pins in the store.

So anyway, today in line we all decided to meet at the mall on January 8. That is the Tuesday after the New Year, to do some pin trading. Everyone was told to bring any of their extras that they were able to purchase and hopefully someone can help them get the ones that they need.

What time would this madness start? Using the rash assumption that we would be leaving downtown DC at 5:00, and having to get through Baltimore, how long should we expect the trip to take?

WE will be there around around 6:30 or 7:00.

95 at rush hour - your quess is as good as mine.

I think an hour and a half would be sufficient for that trek.

I think that it is amusing that all the new friends who met each other since September 22nd came to the same realization yesterday. It's over. In Connecticut we also decided that we don't want to lose touch with each other. We have set aside the second Saturday of every month as our meeting day at West Farms Mall in CT. We plan to gather in the late afternoon and then have dinner together, either at the RFC or another restaurant in the mall. We'd love to have anyone who happens to be in the area join us.

Plus, if everyone would like to start planning, the Connecticut Contingent is going to hold the first Fall Foliage Pin Meet here in CT on October 12th. The colors should be glorious so if any of you haven't seen a New England fall, this is a good excuse to do so. We'll be posting more details in the coming months, but would love to have all of you pencil the date on your calendars now so you don't make other plans for that weekend.

YES!!!! New England in the Fall. And where, outside of course, will the meet take place? Just wouldn't be fair staying in some room, even with windows.

Hey Darlene,
Long time no see!!!! I've been so buzy with the trip to CA and the holidays. I can't wait till the 8th. I will be just getting back from Disney. We are going for New year's again. I haven't been able to enjoy any of the DS lines as I've had work or out of town every one of them. Although a few have helped me get some. I am looking forward to doing some trading.

Assuming all is well, we'll be there. Any plans to hold the meet in the "lounge again? That was great last time. I think I'll bring some of my "Mickey Head" mats that I've now perfected and see if anyone's interested in trading for them. Look forward to seeing everyone again.

Some of us could not wait until January 8, so we had a mini meet the other day and did some trading and stuff.

Some one is coming on the 8th with some of the first 101 pins, so if anyone needs them, just plan to come and have some fun.

That's what I'm referring to. I'll have Mickey head (cut) mats and double (back) mats in several colors. If the meet's going to be held in the customer service lounge where Darlene arranged to hold it last time, I'll bring all my custom matting supplies and do custom matting for those who are interested.
