Just expressed my concern for no longer having EE's along paying full rack rate, with no dicounts that "I" could use during my stay the 3rd week in April. We'll have to see what happens!

Thanks for the Address! Hoping everyone uses it soon!

My email came back to me with the above address..Could someone post a correct address? Humpbacks1962 do you know of a different address?

Raidermatt, I am neither an idiot...

I know. "Idiot" was your choice of words, obviously meant with sarcasm.

nor am I exaggerating when I as well as many others conclude that it most certainly does take effort and planning to avoid lines.

Sure it does, but no more planning that is needed for any other vacation of similar scope.

I don't think I'm alone in admitting that with this board and another, in addition to several guidebooks, that I have in fact invested a lot of time, energy and research in learning how to maximize my shortened time at Disney.

Of course you're not alone. Many of us try to do the same thing. That's one reason why we are here. But the time we spend and books we buy are not REQUIRED just to minmize wait times. One book and a few questions on this board could easily accomplish that. And of course, cuts or no cuts, recession or no recession, one should always focus on what's important to them. Because if the hours return to previous levels, it just means the crowds have returned to previous levels and lines will be no shorter.

And just so you know, I can appreciate a litlle well-placed sarcasm, both on the giving and receiving end, and I think you can too, after all, you have to admit, it is just a tad dull around here, is it not?

I don't disagree, however, sarcasm is often difficult to convey through a keyboard. Additionally, these boards are run with a "play nice" philosophy, and sarcasm can easily be mistaken for not playing nice. But I am not a moderator, so I suppose until they break out the proverbial whistle, you are fine.

"Excuse me treesinger, but what makes you think I took exception to anyones post? "

Sarcasm. We all saw it pretty clearly, and you know it. Playing innocent won't fly.

"Methinks someone is having difficulty with comprehension. I'll reiterate, I appreciated the post and was grateful for it. Is that any clearer?"

I comprehended clearly that you wanted to use sarcasm to express your ill feelings about others' complaints. I personall feel that the complaints are pointless because the facts are the facts. And you'll either go to DW or you won't. I just felt that your sarcasm was of an ill-spirited nature rather than in a playful manner. Your appreciation of the post was expressed sarcastically, which is to say, you did not appreciate the post. Otherwise, you would not have responded sarcastically.

"it is just a tad dull around here, is it not?"

Dull or not, a certain amount of decorum is more appreciated than sarcasm.

I understand why you came out with the sarcasm. I don't agree that the changes in policy at DW are detrimental at all to an enjoyable experience. And to complain about what I perceive to be trivial matters rubs me the wrong way. But I'm not going to insult anyone who thinks that way.

Sorry to seem negative. I have also written Disney twice about early entry. I guess I'm just a little disappointed about not having it for our trip in March.

thanks for posting the email address...
i just wrote to them...
but the truth is, at this point i'm really excited about the offsite resort i've booked for us.....i would never have considered it had disney not cancelled EE....
i think that even if they reinstate at this point, i'll stick with my reservation...

Jason, I'm sorry that my complaining about the Disney cuts rubs you the wrong way, but that is the topic of this thread, correct? I don't think I'm the only one who booked a trip only to find out later that hours and EE were eliminated.

You're much too young to get all upset over whether people disagree with your views on Disney policy. Take it from someone who knows, there are much more important things to worry about! Remember not everyone is just happy to be at Disney, even if they don't get to see everything. Some of us are just have higher expectations.

Some of us are just have higher expectations.

Actually, I have very high expectations. Disney is one of the few companies that meets them consistently. They have done nothing to negatively impact my upcoming trip, so rather than jump on a bandwagon of negativity, I will continue to use my own judgement, just as you do. So email away, write letters, whatever. But don't assume that everyone cares about the same things you do, or that if they don't, they have lower expectations.

I could say that someone who cancels and moves over to Universal has lower expectations because they are willing to pay less for a lesser product. But that would not necessarily be true. Maybe they just have different expectations than I do.

Sorry to seem negative. I have also written Disney twice about early entry. I guess I'm just a little disappointed about not having it for our trip in March.

Jubaby- No need to apologize. Unless you said something other than what's in your last couple of posts, I don't think you really seem negative at all. Generally, what stokes the fires are folks who accuse Disney of not knowing what they are doing, or not caring about their customers, or, better yet, saying Universal and other places care more. Just hoping for EE to return and sending a letter saying so is great. That's how the folks who wanted more character interaction got Character Caravan.

Raidermatt,

I know full well that not everyone agrees with me, I think it's obvious that some folks aren't bothered by the cuts at all, and that's their prerogitive, just as it is mine to express my disappointment with Disney and to explain that they are not meeting my expectations. I accept that you are completely satisfied with Disney, why is it so difficult for you to accept that I (and apparently many others) am not? Let's just agree to disagree, shall we?

My last visit was March of '99 prior to taking the Disney Cruise. I visited in June of '97, and then 5 times before that, but don't ask me the dates because I don't remember! First visit was in 1975.

cforza/edina if you haven't been there since 1999, how do you know if and how the cutbacks may affect a trip fi you haven't been there since 1999?

Because we used EE and it was a lifesaver! We went early, rode all the "big" rides, and then got out of the parks when it got crowded. We were also able to go to another park later in the evening and do a lot since they were open until 10:00 at night. I also have friends who go every year and report back on the crowds (always in March, as it's our schools vacation). The crowds then are horrendous, as are the lines. I can only imagine how difficult it will be without EE.

Did you see the reports from this week? People were saying that the lines were over 1 hour waits. Surely no one would agree that it is reasonable for people to be amenable to those kind of lines. Lengthening the hours and reinstituting EE would alleviate those horrible waits. Even a diehard Disney defender can't be happy with lines like that! Can they?

I'll agree with you on what I've read about the last week. I'm curious if the crowds were out of line from the historical data for the same time. I've been since cutbacks and saw nothing less then great things. Maybe I'll change after my visit in 9 dys, but5 I doubt it.

My problem with those who are complaining is that 95% haven't been since cutbacks. Most reports are positive both here and on the trip reports board. I respect that some want EE but go and try things out and then make a judgement.

2001 Magic Kingdom hours

Sat 2/9 9am-10pm
Sun 2/10 9am-7pm
Mon 2/11 9am-7pm

2002 hours for same weekend

9am-9pm
9am-7pm
9am-7pm

Only Saturday was impacted by reduced hours, and only by one hour.

Also, EE was not offered every day. Anyone remember which days it was offered at MK? I believe it was Saturday and Tues or Wed, but since I never used it, I'm not sure.

Raidermatt,

Actually EE was offered at one park everyday. We planned our trip to enter whichever park was open early. If you never used it, you really can't realize how much you could get done before the park got crowded. You could pretty much hit the 3 most popular rides before any lines built up (which we did! we ran!).

I hope your right Eeyore, and that crowds won't be bad. The thing is, crowds have been very light since 9/11 (and coincidently the cutbacks) so if you were there recently, with the exception of last week, you probably experienced very few lines. Apparently business has picked up, in a big way. Now that many people are traveling again, my fear is that March will be back to it's usually VERY crowded state. With shortened hours, however slight, and no EE, I have visions of long lines! Maybe I'm a pessimist but it seems to be looking that way. Hopefully Disney will realize this and adjust hours accordingly. If they do I will be eating my words, and savoring every bite!

cforza,

we'll comare notes. i've been the same week for years. what week are you going?

Leving March 8th, You're going Feb 24th, correct? That should be a good week, after the February Presidents week but before the March spring breaks. You should be fine, wish me luck though, I'll need it!
