Just to get everyone in the mood. When are you staying (when did you stay),What are you looking forward to seeing /doing at the resort(what did you like best about the resort) and any preference to which building floor section you stay in.(where you stayed and was it a good location etc).

I will start-We dh dd4 are going on the 26/07/07 for 2 weeks.Looking forward to the lovley grounds and the wildlife I have heard are there. The boat to DTD and generally relaxing on our 5 half days off to enjoy the ameneties-oh and the surrey bikes and horse and carriage.I have requested a corner room in mansions but I am leaning towards AB-looks more lush and tropical.:cool1: :thumbsup2 :dance3:

we said at ab 14 last sept. first time ever on disney property and we all loved it (5 of us 38 41 17 15 14) would love to do it again but need to save for it

unfortunetly i'm not a kennedy lol

so going is like every 5 years for us

Hi we stayed there when it used to be known as Dixie Landings.
I think the best thing about POR is the setting... love the pillars etc.. and the fact you can get to DTD by boat! We really made use of that!

Have stayed twice at POR - both times we were lucky enough to get Building 14 in the Bayou section which is the closest to the food court and main bus deepo :)

Things we liked about the resort:

Great food court (loved the double bacon burgers!)
Nice quite pools that were never busy when we were there
Good, well stocked shop
Lovely landscaping
Resort, although big, never felt busy or crowded
Boat to DTD
Generally good bus transport (you need to catch the bus at the main south deepo or it will be full by the time it gets to the other bus deepos)

Would love to go back again - may stay there in 2009 :)

we are staying in September for 2 weeks, the resort looks lovely with lots of greenery, and it sounds great to beable to go to DTD for a few hours in the eveing by boat. I hope to stay at Mansions and want a high floor.

Hi

staying at POR from 11th July for 21 nights and are rwally looking forward to it. 2 adults, 3 kids. The hotel was forced on us really, cause we wanted to stay on site and this was the cheapest way of doing it with 3 kids.

Here we come

Steve

We stayed there in May last year and it was lovely! Id never stayed onsite at a Disney hotel before - only the Dolphin.

I loved how relaxed and quite it was! Pools were always quite! Food court was great so much choice! There was quite a lot of wildlife when we were there! Lots of ducks, rabbits etc! We loved it!

We are going back in Sept this year but staying at the FQ this time.

We stayed here in 2001 in Building 85 the mansions. We have requested the mansions again for our trip in 30 days. But if we don't get it I'm not fussed. As long as we are close to a pool. I love the tranquil setting and surroundings

I'm staying at Riverside in 5 days time (9th June)! We're staying for 2 weeks. Really looking forward to it, i've never stayed on site before and for 2 adults it seems to have the most relaxed atmophere and the prettiest setting, very romantic and affordable too. I've been trying to decide which of the buildings looks the nicest, but the Bayou and Mansions both have separate charms to them.

We stayed there in 2001 and going back this September, just a very nice resort, not OTT, not crowded, food reasonable, transport excellent and cant wait to go back!

We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside in November. To tell you the truth the reason we originally booked PORR, it is the cheapest room that allow upto 5 guests. We loved ASMo. To be honest now that I have booked it. I am looking forward to seeing another hotel, because we have only stayed at Sports and Movies. I was worried without the character statues etc it wouldnt have the disney feeling. I am hoping it works out well for us at PORR. I am sure it will. Looks lovely and I am more excited now about staying there.

We stayed at POR when it was dixie landings back in October 94. Then we were there in October 2005 (during hurricane Wilma) and we are returning for the last 11 days of august this year. Yippee...

I love the mansions section, so pretty, the quiet pools. Its a great place and I enjoy walking around the resort as we eat too much on holiday and all exercise is welcome!!

One recommendation is go and see Bob Jackson, the pianoman in the bar. He is brilliant and my daughter wanted to see him as many times as possible. Really fun ( and his show is free) and children and adults alike have a great evening. :dance3:

Oh happy memories!!:hippie:

Hi - we have stayed twice at POR when it was known as Dixie Landings. The last time was in the magnolia section - it was lovely & quiet - near a quiet pool for our DD who was 14 months at the time.
Lovely grounds, boat to DTD & bus transportation to parks. Great holidays!!
My DH always remembers everybody playing in the main pool late at night when we were on our way back to the room & all the fun they were having!

Of the moderates, I've stayed at POR, POFQ and CB.
POR is my favourite of the three.

It's remarkably quiet given the number of people staying there at any one time and the boat to DTD musy be just about the most relaxing way to travel in WDW.

As Prue says, don't miss the piano player in the lounge. He's great fun.

We stayed at POR in July 2005 and loved it. We have also stayed at CBR since, as we wanted to try somewhere different. I have to say that I preferred POR. I liked everything about it particularly the ambience and architecture. There was should a nice feel about the place. We stayed in Building 14 in 'bayou' which was ideal. We had actually faxed ahead asking for this and of course the request was granted.

Well we arrive at POR on 12th July for 2 weeks and cannot wait!! :yay: :yay:

I've only been to Florida once before and that was back in 1998 so nearly 9 years ago and Mr Mo has never been at all so it'll be soooo exciting!!
