I thought I'd go ahead and start a thread for all of you to post if you were able to get free dining with your Disney Visa today, where you're staying, how much you saved, etc.

Good luck to all!

I called first thing this morning and was able to use the code!
The trip is for Dec. 18th - 22nd. Me and my 2 sisters. Pop Century standard room. 5 day base tickets. Now with the dining plan!! Total came to $1115.
I originally had the package booked without dining and it was $911, so the total went up $200, but I'm actually saving a lot cause now I don't have to pay for Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, O'Hanas, and Sci-Fi out of pocket!!

I so totally got it!

GA Resident Discounted Room Rate at CR Garden Wing Standard View 12/14 to 12/19
$1181.25 or $236.25/night or $210/night before tax

DDP cost per person per day
$37.99 + tax = $40.46 X 2 = $80.92 x 5 = $404.60

Cost of a 1 day MYW Ticket per person
$79.88 with tax x 2 = $159.76

Total cost of current room discount with package extras added: $1745.61


Disney Visa FD Package Total: $1672.34

So, we saved another $73.27 take out the 12.5% tax and that's $64.11, which means the room rate dropped another $12.82 to $198 a night! That's about 26% off of the rack rate of $270 a night.

On hold and then finished from 6.12 - 7.07, girl was very sweet and helpful!!
Okay, I had cbr on nov 14 * 23 before, with gp discount, no dining, 9 day tickets, no hopper or water, for 2 adult was 1613.00. Now, adding the "free dining", all a matter of how you look at it i guess, my total with everything else remaining the same, is 2120.00, so about 500.00 increase, so that's pretty good I guess. Oh, and I don't think there was discount on the room, she said she hadn't heard there was any discount on the room portion at all. Hmmm.
Without my original discount and dining, it would have been about 2950. Or, if I would have kept my gp code, and added dining for 9 days, it would have been about 2300, so I got our dining by adding about 500 today to what we already owe for our had so that's not bad at all. I figured we'd probably spend somewhat more than that for our food, so we got a deal, need to figure more exactly, later after i'm more awake!

Btw, what does anyone think is an average amount for two adults, 50 and 18 yrs, to spend on food for 9 days? Also, if i had 10 days of tickets, for that last day we are there til about 4.30, would I have gotten dining for that last day also? Like are the days of food by the days of tickets you get, or by the nights you sleep over? Hopefully this all makes some sense, it's toooo early, up late with only a couple hours sleep, so i'll go do that now!

Got exactly what I wanted!

I was already booked with AAA room only discount at ASMusic for Nov. 13-18. Okay, but not great. Now have same resort, same dates with free dining and park tickets, and the total came up only $400 more than I was quoted with the AAA discount for just the room!
Just the park tickets for two of us would have cost more than $400 so the room must have been a good discount, too!! So excited I can't sit still!!

Mmm, my CM tried to apply the code to my package but he didn't come up with any difference in price... strange.. I'm not sure he understood what he was doing... I guess I'll try back...

Thank God I had an AAA discount because not one of the codes that came out have worked for my reservation.

Has anyone gotten any discounts at all for CR Tower room from around Oct 8 to Oct 13th? Just curious

I was able to switch my room only reservations at the WL for Sept 30 thru Oct 5 to the free dining package. 5 nights woods view, 1 day base ticket for 2 adults, 1 Disney adult (12) and 1 child with free dining for $1700.00. Did not save much off rack room rates on the room, but the free dining more than makes up for it. We are happy!

Originally had booked with the fall discount MYW, with 2 adults, just a 1-day base ticket, w/ dining plan, 7nights in Oct at CSR for $1465.06..... which had already saved us over $500...... called just now and gave the QXZ discount, bringing my total DOWN to $1326.88, refunding me $138.18!!!!!!! I am SO HAPPY! Thank you disboards!!!!

What a deal!!

We save just a bit more with the free dining than we were saving with the fall discount.

w/basic dining

Fall discount price = $3654
Free dining discount = $3598
So, a savings of $56!

It's not much - but it's something.

Our DU TA e-mailed this morning wanting to know if I wanted to do it, I said YES. She had already saved us the $635 from the previous code, we did not have dining booked at all. Now we do and I'm psyched! We were just going to wing it with CS and snacks this trip. DH is beside himself!

Now to try to get some restaurants as this was not the plan! Free Dining in December! Yippeee!

I got 3 nights at BWI (no room discount), plus basic 7 day ticket (checking in to WH off property after this stay), plus dining for $2150.58. (11/19-11/22)

I wanted BC, but no available. No room at CR either.

We are staying the week of t-giving at WH with family. I wanted to take advantage of this great offer by extending either BEFORE or AFTER. I checked the rates with the GTI (NC resident) code for after and got quoted $210/night on CR. $265 on BC.

THEN - the CM told me I could get FD for AFTER T-giving too. Priced the package out for me. Only problem is that I need my tickets before T-giving, so it didn't work out for me.

I priced out the fall offer for the same nights and tickets plus dining and got a quote of $2330.07.

I'm starting to consider doing the same...found a 2-bedroom condo (I've stayed it many times in the past, so I know it's nice) for $200/night, and only 1 mile from Disney. Even with renting a car, it would still be cheaper than staying in the GV room (rack rate) I have booked at the Poly!

My story:

I had the fall discount and I'm rounding the numbers....

ASMu 11/22 - 11/29 NO Dining
(2 Adult, 1 Disney Adult, 1 child - 1 day base tickets) $685
Thanksgiving at the Fort (Prepaid) $170

NOW WITH DINING (Tkgvg dinner now free!) $1090

So we're paying an extra $235 for the rest of our meals. I don't think we could eat counter service for that. $235 / 12 meals left = 19.58 / 4 ppl = $4.89 per person, per meal and plus we get 14 snacks!

KEEP IN MIND: when I first told the CM I wanted to apply the code, she said "Sorry, 11/23 - 11/29 are blocked out". I said, "Well, some of our dates on the Fall code were too, but we got the discount for the full week anyway." She said, "I could try it, but I don't think that's how this one works." I said, "It's always worth the try!" and it was!

She even seemed to try and talk me out of it - that I was "losing" my room discount. Which I am. There is no room discount in these numbers. I still think I did okay. We have NO OTHER ADR's. I'm gonna try and get at least one, but I'm not even too worried about it if I don't.

ONE QUESTION: I just got my confirmation and it says:

Is it normal to only have the check-in DATE listed (11/22/08). Just a little paranoid. Don't want to get there and find out I only have dining for one day!!!!

Yep...got it for the first portion of our visit.....our room rate barely went up and I got 9 nights of free food for 1 adult and 2 "disney adults". Since I had budgeted $700 for food that week, I am seeing that as our savings. Though honestly, I budgeted high as we probably would not eat separate meals for most of those, but I wanted to be prepared in case the kids were too hungry to share like they normally do. Now, they can eat themselves silly, lol.

The hard part is going to be coming back the next week (going to Grandma's for Thanksgiving in between visits) and NOT having the dining......gotta make sure the kids realize we aren't getting separate desserts at every meal, lol.

My reservation is 11/16 to 11/25....I questioned the CM several times (until she was obviously getting annoyed, lol) to be sure that I was getting the free dining for 11/23, 11/24 and 11/25 since those dates are technically beyond the offer. She said about 3 different times, 9TS/9CS/9Snacks all free....the last time a little forcefully!

And my confirmation says 11/16/2008 FEATURE...QuickService Meal...1 per night (then it lists guests 1, 2, 3).

BUT...at the top it also says 9 nights, lists the code # used, and says MYW 1 day ticket + free dining.

FOr all the other benefits it also lists just the first date of the reservation, so I believe that's fine.

At first I really thought the CM had made an error, that I wasn't supposed to have it for those last 3 days....but you're not the first post I've seen where they've been able to get it way beyond the dates, further than I got too, so obviously it must be like the Aug/Sep free dining, where so long as your stay STARTS in the free dining dates, it's included for after the last date as well. I recall people changing their start date so it was the last day of Free Dining in September, hoping that most of the crowds would be leaving. THere was a limit on how many days they could get after the end date......but I do remember there was a max.
