So, the Doc thinks it might be a stomach/intestinal infection not related to my gallbladder at all!

I have to get her a few "samples" and that will help figure out what is going on.

I was told that exact same thing! I also had to give samples I had to go to numerous Dr.'s have have tons of tests before finding a Dr that knew about the bile salts problem and was willing to say that that was what I had and prescribe me the right meeds to help alleviate the problem. If you do not get
results or the answers you need and don't find relief, please seek a 2nd or 3rd opinion. Good luck!

Oh, I wanted to add that I had a bunch of tests done to rule out things like colitis, colon cancer, and intestinal problems. All my tests came back negative so according to all the tests, there was nothing wrong with me!
