Post-Frances Seas???

Hi All,
Does anyone have any comments on ocean conditions following a hurricane? Having never cruised, and being from the west coast, I'm not sure what to expect. Should I plan to be prepared to deal with some serious seasickness potential?

I am not an expert--the residuals from the storm could last a couple of days after landfall. But if you are sailing a week after Frances (9/11?), you should be okay. If you are already prone to motion sickness, I would definitely bring along some precautions for that.
