Port Orleans (Riverside)

Runner up: Boardwalk

It depends, It depends. It depends! So many factors are in play before a suggestion/decision can be made.

But I love the fact that one can walk to Epcot and Hollywood Studios from Boardwalk and with MK just a monorail away (via Epcot). Very convenient.

I like the EPCOT resorts (Yacht Club) but the Poly and GF are my top picks for MK/monorail line.

We love the VGF. We will be there pre-cruise and OKW post cruise. It's all about theming to us. When approaching BLT there is too much cement and parking lot, looks like any hotel. GF is beautiful to us. Our 2 bedroom at BLT was very nice and no complaints there, have not stayed at the Contemporary, but we prefer the decor of GF along with the music in the lobby during the evening.

I don't think you can go wrong at any of them. We love VWL too, but not sure if you only were interested in monorail resorts.

Favorites: Animal Kingdom Lodge (further out but the ambiance and animal viewing can't be beat) and Beach Club Resort -- walking to Epcot and HS is a real plus.

Runner up: Port Orleans Riverside -- just beautiful grounds and moderate pricing and love the pool

Well, I'm DVC and my home resort is Bay Lake Tower and I love that location especially if I plan on spending most of my time at MK. I also like the other resorts on the monorail loop (Poly and Grand Floridian).

This probably might have better luck over in the resorts board. They would likely ask you to provide some other criteria if you are truly searching for recommendations: number in party, kids, how much willing to spend.
